That's weird... maybe remapping the keyboard might help, I've got it set up exactly the same as for all first person shooters I play and it's just as fast as say Unreal 2.

motion specific mappings:
Mouse L/R, rotate L/R
Mouse U/D, rotate U/D
Right Mouse Button, forward
Mouse wheel U/D, faster/slower
keypad 4/6, strafe L/R
keypad 8, jump
keypad 2, back
keypad 3, crouch

then there were a couple other mappings for custom stuff like backing against a wall.

I've played for years with these settings and guys with gamepads are cannon fodder they're so slow (I doubt I've ever had less than a 10:1 kill ratio against someone with a gamepad), there is currently no better control scheme out there than mouse/keyboard for FPS style games (IMO). I've seen guys playing with trackball/mouse combos, they have potential but seem to be difficult to coordinate (could be they just needed more practice) even though they have the advantage of proportional strafing... and joysticks are as useless as gamepads.

How have you got the game set up and what specifically is slow?

Timber, the idea is stealth killing. If you can't kill them quietly then find out a way around them. Or kill and find a nice dark corner that the enemy wont be searching.

Thoran, I may be mistaken, but I think Timber was refering to one of the console versions of the game, not the PC port. In which case all he has to work with is a game pad.

Um scratch what I just said. Is there perhaps a keyboard peripheral for the Xbox that I was unaware of? I don't have Xbox so I don't know myself.
