I need to discuss about Iron Golems.
For example, if I have a weapon that had a +100% damage modifier, and the base weapon damage is 50. This will give the weapon a total of 100 damage. How will it affect the Iron Golem? Will it, 1) mean that the Iron Golem's melee damage is doubled? 2) mean that 100 damage is added to the Iron Golem's melee damage? Also, if I make an Iron Golem from a shield, will it take on the Chance to Block modifier? [ADD] If I use a weapon that has an active Runeword, will it take on the properties of the Runeword? This applies to Gems as well. Also, when I use a weapon that has life leech, the Iron Golem seems to act like a Blood Golem, lasting really long against monsters and barely taking a scratch. This is on 8 players setting and Nightmare by the way. Can anybody confirm if Iron Golems receive life from monsters' hits if it has life leech? back in the day of d2 [img]smile.gif[/img]
i liked to make iron golems from shields with 4 sockets filled with perfect skulls for the thorns damage iron golem was maxed and i used amp damage to further increase the returned damage...it worked pretty good but if you want your golem to hit and kill, use a high damage weapon with life leech sorry...cant answer the technical questions though [img]smile.gif[/img] |

Well I'm not an expert but I have some experience with Necromancers.
The +100% damage modifier means that your golems base damage is doubled. I can confirm that iron golems made from socketed weapons receive the bonus of the gems.Logically this should include the runeword items. As for the life steal I seem to remember having a golem once that healed itself but I can't say if it was due to the lifesteal of the weapon or it's natural regeneration.

I didn't think that it recieved any bonus at all from the weapon at least I could never seem to tell a defference no matter what weapon I used never tried a socketed gemmed item though. Guess I could be wrong but from the text description it doesn't sem to imply that the weapon matters only that it is metal.

Iron Golems inherit those of the items but the regen rate and whatever [img]smile.gif[/img]
