Not [just] the internet kind, the green multi-eyed ones that chase you through the woods. I just made level 9, and still can't do a thing with them other than run and run till I get to a town where the gaurds or other npcs seem to have no problems at all.

My normal approach with boars, bears and ogres-- all those things that are tough themselves and do big damage if they get too close-- is to run backwards while shoot arrows/casting fireballs. Seems like trolls actually heal faster than I can hurt them, and boy are they FAST.

Do they have some vulnerability I haven't found yet?

If you can use the horribly watered down enchant system to enchant a weapon with a short lived damage effect, you can effectively nullify the troll's regeneration. After that, it's just block, attack, block...

And none o' that gutless run-backwards-and-shoot-stuff either. Get yourself one of the archery mods that increases arrow damage by (a much more realistic) 50%. You'll never be chased down by a pin cushion again.

Since I posted this, I leveled enough that I now dread mountain lions and will'o the wisps, too...

I should make getting into University my biggest priority, I guess. Might have been a good plan for real life, too!

Or download a mod that lets non-guild members use enchanting alters.

Well, I got the honor blade of Chorral, which I'm supposed to give to either the creepy thieves guild guy, or the count of Chorral.

Screw 'em: its got an attack of 11, weighs 0, and makes short work of trolls and cougars. I'm keeping it until something better comes along.

I have this mod that gives you exploding arrows. Ever seen a troll fly through the air?

Or Instant Death arrows, don't forget to pull them out of the corpse afterwards, they're too valuable to leave behind.

I've thought about an arrow mod: surely I'm not the first one to think the bows are woefully underpowered...

At the point where trolls and cougars aren't much trouble, but I'm not fond of brown bears, minotaur Lords, and dred zombies.

Not as bad as trolls were when they firs appeared, but bad enough to make get out my strongest weapons.

The instant death arrows are a blessing, i've cleared out entire vampirehideouts without them even knowing i was there. They don't make any noise, and are, like you probably suspected, deadly on impact. The perfect tool for stealthy characters
