Nope. Had bigger fish to fry: Getting magic to work. Now that I've got that behind me, I might take a trip over to Moonmoth Fort and see what I can rustle up. Gotta do something to get prepped for the trip back to Fatleg's and my biggest confrontation to date. Who was it that told me the Thieve's Guild quests were the easiest?

Quick off-topic question: Is Elminster in anything else other than Baldur's Gate? Any books, for instance?

In forgotten realms books, yes.

Such as Elminster in Hell, Elminster's daughter, ect.

Well, I've been checking out the posts at the start of this thread, and laughing at the noob questions I asked. You guys have pulled me along a fair piece since less than a month ago.

I feel I finally know enough to talk back to my mentors: I appreciate all the advice that all of you gave. It helped me to decide on the build, in which Sever had a heavy hand in getting me started. But I wish that I had taken Stratos' advice... well, sort of...

Stratos said I should pull Merchantile from Major, and make it minor, at very best. I use this skill so often that I think it should stay Major; but with the huge headstart in Personality that the Lady sign gives, I wish that I had the other Personality skill --Speechcraft-- as Miscellaneous. Then I could fill the void with a skill that uses a GA of Willpower or Speed. I have especially had problems advancing Speed. From a RP perspectve putting Athletics in as at least a Minor makes most sense, since my character runs 80% of the time he is going anywhere.

The only theoretically better character start (from a power perspective), that I can think of, is to make sure that every GA is represented in the Major/Minor list, and that the GAs that one really cares about are represented in the Major.

Thanks, again, for the help ALL of you gave. I still remember how frustrating my first character (and gameplay without the manual) was. It is hard to believe that it was a mere 3 or so weeks ago. Other than the "tweak" mentioned above, I am supremely satisfied with my new character; and I have you guys to thank for it.

Thanks!

(Now, can I keep the blinders on long enough to get max enjoyment out of Morrowind, before succumbing to the call of Oblivion.... )

Yep, it's probably a malware issue. The basic problem; some blue error screen shows up a few minutes after I enter Windows, the computer restarts and run that scanning program before entering Windows again. Now some gray box pops up on the desktop telling me that Windows have recovered after some serious problem, or something along those lines. It's one of those boxes that ask me if I want to send a error report to Microsoft.

I haven't been running my comp much lately, but it seems the problem only shows up when I have my network cable hooked into my comp. Could it be a malware trying to call some other computer?

I'm considering a complete system recovery right now; I don't really have anything important on my HD anyway.
