I also think that they should definitely return to the Daggerfall realm. If you think about it, Daggerfall really was the greatest of the games, just because it was so damn big and there was so much stuff to do. I always wished that they had redone Daggerfall instead of making Morrowind. Imagine Daggerfall, but all the old bugs were gone, all the graphics were amazing, the plotline was even more in-depth, and you you had that huge world to tromp around in! Not to mention the thousands of new side quests and ways to play your character. I suppose it will always be a lost dream though.
Can't wait for the next ES game, though.

More attention to atmosphere. While I really enjoyed Morrowind, I think they created a bigger world than they could manage to fill with rich content. I wouldn't mind the next one being geographically smaller if they succeeded in creating a living and breathing world where people had at least some semblence of personality and did more than stand around like scarecrows, and you couldn't walk around in the wilderness for days without hearing as much as a bird singing.
(Hint, look at the intense atmosphere that the Baldur's Gate series created with nothing but background sounds) Oh, and either get rid of voice acting or significantly improve it. [ 08-22-2004, 08:15 AM: Message edited by: Rataxes ]

I was actually hoping that they will have a better 3rd person view support. As in playable in 3rd person view, ala Gothic 1 & 2. This first person view thingy is really ...um... making me sick. I have to stop playing every 2 hours or I will have a serious case of motion sickness.
Anyway, considering that the series has always been developed for first person experience, I doubt that they would switch to 3rd person gameplay.

I know, I know...but I really haven't had a stisfatory experience with Morrowind YET, mostly because I STILL haven't gotten a PC that could run it satisfactorily...so, just to take the thread off topic for a few posts, how long am I going to have to wait before a FACTORY ISSUE PC is capable of running this thing... IMO, Morrowind is not a $30 dollar game...it's a $220 dollar game, meaning if you don't have $190 in a graphics card, you can just suffer...

If they could find a way to keep the NPCs from blocking the damn doorways, I'd be happy )
It might seem small, but a better organized inventory might be nice, for objects that you get in great abundance, like keys, potions, etc. And that pause when the music changes...I know that mw_fps app takes care of it, but if they could change the music without that pause, that would be nice |

They really could liven up the countryside, with more robbers, vampires (night, of course. it would make you think twice about travelling alone), and just plain old travellers, making thier way, not just monsters and random side quests.

The other problem with Daggerfall, you visited two provinces. High Rock (which daggerfall was located) and Hammerfall. And practically everything in Daggerfall was randomly generated. There are supposedly 40-50 real building segments, and the rest are compiled through randomization. And guild quests just cycled through, with lots of repition. |

The two above points are why I stoped playing this game.
I went in search of some mushrooms and ended up walking for days. When I finally found my way back to civilisation, I was around the first town. Did I mention I also got lost when I went from the first to second town? I didn't really enjoy walking around empty areas with the occasional random cave.

And I'd assume you were lost in the Bitter Coast, because that is the most desolate region out there. But certain areas are designed to be harsh and unihabited, while others aren't. |
