Arrow

I just got Morrowind on the advice of many here on the Ironworks board and am still crawling my way through the game.

Simple gameplay question for all:
Is there a way to get *text* (subtitles) when NPCs speak to me? That would help me a lot.

Thanks!

There's a checkbox for subtitles under Options/Preferences.

hehe, that would've saved me a lot of reloads when talking to the daedra statues. Is it just me, or do they mumble...

try going to option and to audio function and tweak around some of the sound thing there if you can't hear what the npc is talking to you.

New question. Any advice on what would be the best combo of race and class for a beginner to get the hang of the game?

A fighter type character is probably the easiest way to start as you can get decent weapons and armor early.

For race I would choose redguard or orc.
