PickPockets

Ok, I'm a level 1 Assasain, who is in Balmora. Now, I am having trouble picking pockets, and I need too........I'm using the Ring of Theivery, and also Invisibilty scrolls sometimes, and I STILL GET CAUGHT!

Any advice?

Keep practicing, at level 1 you don't stand much of a chance of succeeding, you need to level up first. Maybe you should taunt him first ?

If he gets angry enough, he'll attack you, and that gives you a legitimate reason to kill him and take away whatever he has in his pockets. He'll have to attack you first though, if you strike first, guards will arrest you.

Yeah, taunting needs practicing too. Just wait until you're a few levels higher. Surely the ring isn't that important, is it ?

have a bow with sneak. sneak from far and shoot at him. it's not a crime.

or

cast frency spell at him. he'll go breserk and attack you. thus it's not a crime.

Pickpocket is another aspect of sneak. So a)you need to get your sneak skill up and level up a few times (the higher your level and the higher your sneak skill the easier it is to pickpocket) and b) chameleon works far better for thieves than invisibility.

The Rings of Theives, Mages, and Warriors aren`t all that great. It does help you out of course but don`t expect spectacular results because of them.

Use Chameleon instead of Invisibility. Invisibility will wear off if you try to open a door or strike someone or pickpocket. It is more for sneaking past or running away from enemies. Chameleon won`t totally hide you from your victims (it will conceal you to different magnitudes) but it won`t wear off when you try to pickpocket them either.

Any advice?

Go to the South Wall corner club and find someone who will train you in sneak. Also, if you`re wearing any armor that you aren`t skilled in using take it off (especially heavy armor).

A final tip if you need some cash for training is to buy a scroll of Odusis's Open Door (something like that) and go back to Sedya Neen. Since you`re a theif and an assassin I suppose your character doesn`t have any qualms about ripping off the government. Otherwise you shouldn`t do this because it is very erm.. illegal.

Head back towards the Census Office and look for the warehouse. It should be directly opposite of Sellus Gravius' office (the guy that took your release papers and sent you to Balmora). Use your scroll on the door and loot away! Be sure to watch out for the guard though. Sometimes he will sneak up on you while you`re stealing things. After cleaning that place out you should have plenty of money for whatever you need.
