Help,
I was kinda doing the Planer Sphere quests and ran into a roadblock. In order to get out I have to get through a room contianing a few of those nice magic police. The problem is they are set in a semi circle around the door in. I can get two rangers into the room but that is all as they are constantly casting to dismiss invis. Even if i cast silence into the room and it gets them all they still cast as soon as they see me. I can dissrupt one of them with the rangers but the others get their shields up and make me toast. I have tried shooting web in which does hold them fora brief time but can't get my guys in to get them before they break it as they stil lseem to be able to get their missle shields up even when held. Any ideas?

The other thing almost all my chars had some type of missle or throwing weapon proficiencey..Either Bows and xbows for fighters/ranger/paladins etc, slings for cleric/druids and throwing knives I think for mages or just magic missiles.. [ 04-03-2002, 06:53 PM: Message edited by: Tanoch Thas'ala ] |

the cloak of non-detection works wonders here, once again. cast imp. invisibility on the person wearing the cloak, and voila! an assassin immune to targeting spells, which causes the mages to waste true sight after true sight until you attack, still partially invisible and immune to targeting spells. the CoND is quite the overlooked gem.

I did not have the cloak our friend states so had to deal with them using area spells like fog, fireball, etc.. summon anything that moves to grab there attention, and magic missile them as much as possible. I was hurting but made it through after a couple of tries. Good luck

That is one of the tougher battles in SoA, IMO. You're literally forced into an ambush from a narrow defile. The three best suggestions I can make are:
1) Summon, 2) Summon, 3) Summon. You want to keep those mages as busy as possible to prevent them from powering up their defenses and summoning more creatures, in turn. It also helps if you have a druid who can cast Insect Plague. And if you have Keldorn and that sword you get up in the Windspear Hills, he can use it to dispel the mage's defensive enchantments. |

I summoned a Nishru - he sucked the magic right out of them, leaving some pretty easy marks.

Thank for the suggestions guys. What I wound up doing was casting silence two webs stink cloud and two fireballs that took out the mage the other got his shields up but was held bye the webs so i waited till it wore off and then hit him with arrows and MM.
