Divayth Fyr

Now, just for the record this post is on behalf of my brother-in-law who also owns morrowing but does not have the internet.
He's already completed the cure corprus quest and done the quest for the mages guild and as far as i know those are the only two quests that involve Divayth, and as you probably all know, he's got a kick A$$ set of armour.
When he killed Divayth, he got the expected message of doom, but, if he's already completed the quests that involve Divayth, does it affect the game, or are there actually more quests that you need him for?

After he has cured you, you don't need him for the main quest anymore.
However he is needed for a mages guild and a telvanni house quests

The Mage guild quest from Trebonius "Kill Telvani councelor" is an insane one, and not needed to be Arch Mage. I liked the Telvani anyway. Besides ....

You have to kill him anyway to be Arch Mage.

So trebonius actually tells you to kill Divayth?
Is this some sort of trick to get you to not be able to complete the game maybe?
But it's good to know that you don't actually have to do trebonius's quests to become the arch-mage. I was worried for a sec that I wouldn't be able to comlete the mages guild quests.
