Has anyone played as a vampire? Is it fun? My character became a vampire, and now no-one will talk to him (plus he sunburns easily...). Should I go back to an earlier game? Any words of advice?

I would suggest keeping a save from before you became a vampire, and keeping a save from after. Then I would experiment with being a vampire and see if it's right for you. Not everybody is cut out for the Vampire lifestyle, but to some it can be nirvana. I would try it out before you read the spoilers below. Experiment, have fun, explore.

I haven't been a vampire myself, but from what I've heard on this forum....

You can be cured of Vampirism, but once you are, you can never be a vampire again. I don't think you can regen majicka or health as a vamp w/o drinking blood. There are 3 vampire clans and presumably you have to be a vampire to join them and do their quests. Hmm. That's all I can remember off the top of my head. Not a lot of info, sorry.

You need to be infected via contact (fight or when you dispose of the body).
Known locations for non-quest giving vampires:
Balmora - heading west, cross over mountains behind Hlaalu Council Hall and start looking for a tomb
Vivec - North of Vivec, look for a tomb near the water areas (I think that there is a bridge near it...)
Molag Mar - South West of Stilt rider, head west on road, look for a tomb on your left off road that has a skeleton guard

PS: I have completed the game with two different Wood Elves and after killing and disposing of 37/42+ vampires, they have never been infected because of their natural resistance to Common Diseases. Not the same for my Orc Custom Paladin and Dark Elf Spellsword whom contracted the disease everytime they came into contact with vampires...

So is Vampirism considered a common disease? If I am immune to common disease can I not become a vampire? (I guess it's time to start a new character)

you can't be infected by vamipism if your immune to common disease but if you want to become vampiric either create or download a ring to remove the resistance wilst warn (creating ouside the game is easier than in.)
