In the mage guild's second duty, you are to plant a fake soul gem in a desk. That same desk is covered with some nice, shiny, valuable soul gems of much higher caliber. I know I'm not S'POSED to take from my fellow guild members, but what's the harm? Has anyone tried this? What are the negative repercussions, if any?

All input appreciated

There is nothing to fear, unless they see you do so.

Take all the gems you want

also, as with anything you steal, the game knows you did it even if you never got caught
So, when your caught by the guards....even though you sold the 60k gem of winged twilight a long time ago, they will take ALL of your grand soul gems from you; this goes for any other item you stole--all similar item-copies will be taken.

thats a good reason to never ever turn yourself into the guards. they are dirty rotten thieves. hmmph!

always contact your special guild member who negotiates a lower price for you to buy off your sentence and they NEVER mess with your things.

I snagged them and have been busted by the guards since then, and never lost them, or was confronted about it... It don't count unless you are seen...

Same with killing people for the hell of it...

Are you sure about that? I`ve had things taken from me that I was pretty sure no one saw me take. If I`m ever spotted taking things I usually just reload anyway.
