Okay I got my first 'quest' from the mages' guild in Balmoral hunting for mushrooms. I found all but one of the requested items. Does anyone know where the mushroom called Bungler's..... is? By the way if one is doing this quest don't cross the bridge you come across unless you're confident in your fighting ability. Thanks this is an awesome game! E

Bungler's Bane is brown and grows on tree trunks, usually next to Hypha Facia

YOu can also buy/find the four mushrooms in Balmora. They are here and there.

the two mushrooms, bungler's bane and hypa facia, grow in sets on tree trunks, hon. one above the other. so just about all the trees that have ferns around them in the starting town have them.

Hope this works since I get a timed out page whenever I try to post a reply. Just wanted to thank everyone for the reply. It worked and I have now got the second quest which is planting the fake soul gem, which I did, and now when I present myself for my reward there is no way to tell the guy I done good. Oh well, must need to let some time pass. Does anyone know where to store items you want to hang onto but not carry around? Maybe I should just open up a bunch of those rent-a-storage places and retire from killing so I can then die form the boredom of it all. Thanks again. E

~~eva~~

same thing happened to me.

tell me, did you just take one of the gems off the top of the table and swap it for the one you were given?

that's what i did and was never given credit for the act.

well, i figgered it wasn't designed to make me fail, so i reloaded and this time, i took a moment and clicked on the desk as tho it were a chest. sure enough the drawer opened and inside was one special soul gem which i then swapped out.

took it back to whats-er-name and everything worked out fine. she was very pleased with me and things progressed.

hope this helps you!

EDIT:
for storing things, there are many chests and drawers that look fine, but they are all respawners. the only way to tell if you're gonna lose whatever you put in there is to use the Construction Set.

it's much better to either get the Balmore-House Plug In where all the storage is safe, OR just use the Silt Strider platforms and leave your stuff there in every city you travel to. stuff you leave on the ground doesn't move till YOU move it.

Thanks V! I'll try that. Sometimes its what other people try that can turn a game back into being fun. Okay Strider platforms it is then.
I started over with a new spellsword. Know where Foryn Gilnith is in the starting town-this has to do with the killing of the tax guy. Thanks again. Eva
