A Shadow’s Chosen

Even as Mystra has her Chosen which are called the “Seven Sisters”, the Mage has his own Chosen. Being but a Demi-God, he can only have one at a time, however.

Just as the “Seven” have their special ability called “Spellfire”, a silver fire that is tapped directly from the Weave…so too does the Chosen of the Mage have a special innate ability given him, called “Shadow Fire”.

Note: A chosen of the Shadow Mage only has his power at the behest of the Mage himself; should the Shadow Lord decide to remove Chosen status from the character, he reverts to his original abilities.

Special Qualities: A chosen of the Mage retains all special qualities of the character and also gains the following:

1. Damage Reduction: Since he is “shadow-touched”, he is less tangible than before, and in fact, normal weapons cannot harm him. It requires gold, silver or magic weapons to harm a Chosen. A Chosen’s AC is set naturally to 3 in 2nd ed. rules.

2. Shadow Flame: A chosen of the Mage can summon and control the mysterious energy known as Shadow Flame. This shadow energy is very unstable in the hands of those who do not have the blessing of the Mage of Shadow. However, the chosen is an expert and can use the following abilities.


* Shadow-empowered spells: All spells that are cast gain extra strength (to be determined at time of casting by the GM), and are now shadow substance. A magic missile would therefore be a missile of negative energy.

* Mantle (Sp): The Chosen can surround himself in a mantle of Shadow Flame which grants him immunity equal to a globe of invulnerability.

I don't really have anything to post as yet, since Morg is kind enough to post for both of us!!! lol... (reconsiders hiding behind Morg after that comment...) hehe [img]smile.gif[/img]


The last four weeks has been spent fighting my car.. I have a 96 Grand Am, and it has a unique theft system on it ... (which I found out the hard way...) If it doesn't recognize the key, it shuts off the fuel system and the battery...

Well, it quit recognizing MY key!!...
And after it stayed at the Pontiac dealer (who is the only one who can FIX the @#$#$ thing) and $500 dollars later, I get my car back last Thursday after 3 weeks of no car, and it DOES IT AGAIN TODAY@@!!!!!!

Needless to say, I am drinking a few beers tonight after that.. lol... at least this time they gave me a rental car to use until they figure out why my car will not recognize the program code any more. They have installed two new cylinders, and it still doesn't like them..

Any chance of getting you to make one quick post just to give Anarrima an idea as to how she might help save you? She's nearly all out of spells of use to you so you'll have to suggest something crafty. If you can do that much...before the leeches come and eat you...I'll pull you to safety and we can get this section of the game over with.
