How Do I Finish These Quests??

i)Idle hands in Imsevale - I bought the likkle guys swords and ale, but it is still in my journal as incomplete. How do I finish it?

ii)Thieves Guild - A Stable of Thieves - I decided to dock their wages, and then I was told that the culprit had been killed. It is still in my journal. Any ideas as to how to get it to the finished side?

I don't know how to finish them, but I know that giving ale to the kid is not a good thing, and giving them only the sword is better.

Don't know about the Thieves' Guild quest, but for the Imnesvale kids, after you have done the other quests in the area, go to the cave where you found the Mimic. The end takes place there.
