Many people have wrote to Bioware asking for them to release the editors that they use to make the Infinity engine games and Biowares reply to these people is that the editors are much too complicated for everyday gamers like you and me to use.

I have just being looking at the making of Baldurs Gate on Interplays Site(quite an interesting read). The article also contains a few screenshots of their editors being put to use.
Have a look your self:Making of BG

Now for the last few months I have been playing about with the editors that TeamBg have produced and am slowly getting too grips with how things work.

But after seeing this article and examining the screenshots I couldn't help but compare the editors of Bioware to the ones TeamBg produced, and I was amazed at how simple the Bioware ones appear compared to TeamBGs. Surely they cannot be half as complicated as Bioware made out. True I have only seen a few screenshots of a few of their editors and could most likely be wrong, you might have too be a rocket scientist too understand them. But I for one would be willing too give them a go if given the chance. Surely If Bioware released some sort of support for their editors then many people could be happily moding away. Even if making full mods proves too difficult, making simple items and spells would keep most people happy.

Well enough of my ranting, how would you feel about having a go with the Bioware Editors?

I know its a long shot, but prehaps if the demand was large enough then Bioware would be more willing to release these editors, so how about signing a petition. I for one put my name down.

Daniel O`Neill - Release those Tools!!!!

So every one please sign.

Well now you do have a point. But the more important one: Why not? When i was reading up on NWN they said they were going to release an editor with it. All sorts of cool stuff, making ur own mods, spells, kits, things like that. Who wouldnt want that? And why even have it, show it, if u were never going to go beyond showing the public how it worked?

I geuss that it makes sense in that way....because they are switching to the aurora engine IIRC so if they released the creation tools for the IE it wouldnt exactly be releasing something that they are currentyl using...
