"Hmm, well you don't really need a nickname, since your name is pretty short and pronounceable," Konneke pondered. "But if I were to pick one for you, it would be... Hisoka!" She chuckled again, while eyeing the salty newcomer.

"As for me, I've been in need of a job, and I've been on the ocean before." Konneke shrugged. "Perhaps on ships not quite as nice as this one, but I should be able to handle it. How about you all?"

ooc- "baka" means stupid or idiot, but it's usually used in an endearing way... of course, it depends on how one uses it [img]smile.gif[/img] If someone says it to you angrily, they aren't being endearing!
Hisoka loosely translates to mean "secret"... how fitting

Aenyral smiled, "Well, my dear baka Neko, as to why I came along... that is a long tale." Aenyral sighed deeply, "I suppose we have time..." Aenyral's smile had faded, "Where to begin... he frowned, creasing his handsome brow in thought, "Well, there's the long and the short version. I think I'll give you the latter. Summed up, I just 'happened' to be passing by in town, and just 'happened' to need a job, and just so 'happen' to be a fair hand with a blade, on and off the water. I also just so 'happen' to be experinced with ships." Aenyral shrugged, "I think you named the wrong guy 'secret'." Then his smile returned, and the ice in his eyes melted. "Ahh, maybe I'll tell you the long version later, you see, it all began in a far away land, long ago... or if you like, in a land, far, far away, a long time ago... either works. Anyway, once upon a time, there was this prince, a princesses and a..." Aenyral smirks at Konekke.

Edit: Aenyral notices the newcomer, but does not acknowledge him, discretely observing him from the corner of his eye, somewhat warily, but still discrete. His preadatorial aura is barely noticable, but for those who know, his eyes hold a concealed glint within - a glint of a man who's killed many other men. Soon it fades, however, disappearing in the sunlight, showing for a brief instant. (OOC: only those who just happen to be looking at the right time for a split instant will see it. It is very well hidden.)

Konneke arched an eyebrow at 'Gaki.' "And a dragon, I suppose," she drawled. "I don't believe in all that childish prattle. There may be dragons and monsters somewhere around the world, but life never works out 'happily ever after,' I can tell you that much."

Aenyral laughed, "Well, each to his own... I see someone does not appriecate light jesting and humour" Aenyral sighed deeply again. "Better then being miserable, no?

"And you don't think the name 'Gaki' is amusing?" Konneke smirked. "Without humour it would be pretty hard for me to keep going. Never really had the easiest life, but I'm not complaining." She shrugged, then turned and began to saunter away. Waving an arm casually, she called over her shoulder "Well, it was nice socializin' with you all, but I'm sure once we're out at sea we'll have plenty of time to do that. I'm going to go explore this floater a bit."

Bakilas sits on the ship's rail on the far side from everyone else, he watches the conversation with interest noting that most of the crew seem to be younger then himself. He also see another man, slightly older then he, board the ship. He seems experienced enough, got to know I wont be stuck on board with a bunch of young fools.

The captain nods at Darryn and then ignores him.
Phobic is bored at having to stay at the top of the ship this whole time. All he is doing is watching the others talk. He finally gets bored enough to climb down and start to talk to the others when he hears watchman out to his left. He walks over and sees someone and goes over to talk to him. He says," I'm Phobic. I thought I heard you wanted to be a watchman. Am I right.... what is your name?"

With a nod,he replied, "Of course, of course. I'll see you later." Aenyral smiled, and then murmured. "Time to take a cabin of my own, I think..." With that, he disappeared down the stairs and went to look for an unoccupied cabin and claim it.

Darryn spoke to Phobic as he was told to 'watch for anyone who looks interested in joining,' whilst the captain walked 'over to his cabin.' I assumed that, since you were still recruiting, that meant Phobic was readily available for conversation near the plank. Other than that it's Darryn's mistake rather than mine [img]smile.gif[/img]
You've already resolved the situation by putting the cap'n out there though so I'll run with that.

While he might have doubts about some of the crew, the captain at least appeared able. It was a good nod. "Welcome aboard," the nod said, "you're hired as watchman at a rate as reasonable as your performance." And ignoring him, the captain added: "We'll be leaving soon, so don't take long settling in. Get started as soon as you're able."

Darryn respected people who could nod in meaningful ways. It beat shouting your lungs out in a storm a thousand to one.

"Name's Darryn," he told Phobic.
Wiping his nose, he looked around for a place to stow his kit.

[Keal]

Keal slowly wlked into the cabins. He jumped up onto a bunk, and began to aim his gun. "Looks fine, I'll be alright."Keal says as he reaches into his bag and pulls out a long-sword. He notices Aerynal walking into the bunks and he quickly puts it away."Good luck finding a cabbin of your own." Keal says as he grabs a couple sticks out of his bag. "Here eye-ore go build one." Keal jokes with a small grin. Then Keal walks around and catches up with Neko."How are you going to get dressed, or sleep without being cought? If you didn't want me to find out, wait til' someone else does, what do you think will become of that? Not everyone can keep a secret." Keal says.
