ooc- and the plot thickens...

ic- Liam

Sisterrr... Motherrr... death...Rresponsible...! the words echoed sharply in Liam's brain, pulling the hybrid's hurt soul out of hiding and back to the present.

As the two lycanthropes fell, their claws still in each other, Liam's golden eyes lost their cold quality and widened. "Sisterr?" he whispered in quiet wonder. Realising what he had done, he quickly retracted his claws from the female and turned her around midair, so her back was facing him. Gripping her in a tight embrace, the two fell heads first towards the ground, Nanashi struggling to break free from his ironhold.

"On my honourr, I will not let anyone hurrt you anymorre" he said determinedly into her ear, and right before impacting with the earth he flipped them so that he was underneath and took the brunt of the impact.

Liam gave a pained grunt and could hear some of his ribs creaking in protest from supporting the other hybrid's weight. He remained there with Nanashi still clutched in his grasp, in an attempt to recover from the fall.

To Vincent and the "owl" the events occurred much too quickly to really know what happened. All they know is that Liam is lying winded on the ground with a thrashing Nanashi contained in his tight embrace, her arms pinioned to her sides.

ooc- I'm assuming that since he is older and practices his abilities as much as Nanashi does, that Liam has the upperhand on strength. Unless, of course, Nanashi has a few tricks of her own...

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

Watching the quick duel above, Vincent came closer in range and was almost below them when the tow fell, the female ontop of Liam, he had her still held but looked to be weakening from the heavy impact. Slippin his arrows back in the quiver, he decided on a subduing course of action, he might miss with arrows and that wouldnt be good. Charging in, he started to dance around the flailing combatants and took a swipe at the females head with the pommel of his sword, hoping to score a knockout

ooc: hopefully y'all dont come with skulls so think you cant be subdued ......Larry let mah know

Nanashi

Still struggling and amazed at the strength he still maintained, Nanashi fought furiously to attempt to break his hold on her.

"Rrrrr...Rrrepenting now will not brrring my family back you monsterrr! Let go of me!! Rrrahh!

Even as she struggled, tears were welling up in her eyes, but she would not let him win...not this time.

Larry 2/13

Even as he began to come into the light, his rescuer was slipping away, but Larry did not know this, for he still could not see with his eyes. Instead, his dreams again took shape, and he fell into them.

Nanashi

Even as she struggled to escape his grasp, the elf finally made his appearance, though she saw him not. Before knowing what had happened, she was knocked out, and lay still in her brother's grasp.

OOC>>>Vincent was successful in knocking her out.

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

" Get up Liam, she is unconcious. " Looking over Liam to make sure that he no open wounds and seeing none he set about lashing a quick harness to keep the female tied up. Are you going to be okay Liam? That was some fall, I'm going to roll her off you on the count of three, then we can take a better look at you." laying the harness down on the opposite side of Liam he manuvered himself to the other side and prepared to roll her off of Liam."Ready.....Three" he shouted and shoved the unconcious woman off of him and onto the rope harness. Hopping over Liam and straddleing the womans backside he quickly set about connecting the untied ends to complete the rope harness so as to pin her arms and feet tight so as to not be able to wiggle free. Rolling her back over onto her back he stood up and let out a heavy sigh". Okay Liam, I'm gonna gather up some branches to make a stretcher, you going to be okay or should I make two of them, she isnt going to go anywhere without major assistance, unless she is stronger then a bear, and if thats the case, hehe I'mm, well were gonna be in trouble. Nice move's by the way." with that he waits to make sure Liam is alright.

edit for tag's

ooc- 'ware the anger of an infuriated tiger

ic-Liam

The positive response Vincent was probably aiming for never occurred. Much to his surprise, Liam leapt to his feet, despite his back-breaking fall, and uttered a guttural snarl at the elf. "Who gave you perrrmission to interrrvene?" he growled angrily at the elf, pulling the hood of his cloak back to reveal a normal, human face, albeit distorted by fury and indignation. "Alrrready you have made me brrreak my prromise to herrr!" He raised a hand to his temples and looked up at the sky.

After a moment he had sufficiently calmed down and collected his senses. "I am sorrry," he appologized. "Therre was no way you could have known. Next time, howeverr, please make surre you arre needed in a fight beforre you join the melee. Things arre not always what they may seem."

And with that warning, the tall aristocrat bent over and slung Nanashi over his shoulder, a slight wince the only indication of his possible injuries. "I'll meet you back at the taverrn," he called politely, before heading off in that direction.

The Mage watched with fascination as the weaker Roderik was able to conquer the beast as easily as Rodie had passed his test. Both had survived. This meant to the Mage that if the two of them could share the same body and work in unison, they would be a formible foe...or ally. But that had not yet occured to them, supposedly.

He appeared in front of the tired Roderik.

"My dear Roderik. That was a splendid show of talent and fore-thought. I never would have guessed you could have done so well, and I am pleased to see that I was wrong. I see why that lunatic uncle of yours prizes you so much.
Now I am still unsure of what to do with you, for you see...Rodie would work very well for my purposes, but you hinder his free agency. If only the two of you could be friends. I'll tell you what. What would be the value to you to be rid of Rodie? If I were to separate his soul from your body, would you be more agreeable? That is certainly more than what has been offered to you by my rival."

Just then, the Mage learned of what had transpired at the tavern. His two best had been captured and Larry yet lived. It seemed that Morgeraut had also had a hand in the events that took place there as well, but only in some object delivered to a regional officer of the law. An inquisitor. Quickly, he formed a plan.

Roderik, I am a person with many plans, but they seem to have been hindered recently. I need you to do a job for me, and when it is done, your reward will be the separation of Rodie from your body the moment I have verified you have done your job. If you accept this task for me, then you will be spared. If not, I have no further business with you, and will send your rotting carcass back where it came from so that your stink will fester in the tower of my enemy. Do we have an understanding?"

Faint. That was how she felt as she reached out to touch him. Faint. That was how her heartbeat would have been... if she had a heart. Faint. That was the sigh that escaped her imaginary lips as she stretched herself, how difficult it was, to find the one man who had ever bothered about her in her previous existence.

"Larry... wake up."

She could not, dared not think of failure. If she did, she would only panic and surrender.

"Rest if you must, but you have GOT to get up." Her voice - if there was one - was trembling as she felt her feeble vapours weaving around him.

"Get up and rescue me. Do not fail me."

How selfish she sounded! Even at a time when she had betrayed him ... or was he who had betrayed her?

It did not matter. All that mattered was that he must live on, live the dream he wanted.

As the moments passed, she exhaled, her troubled gaze wavering between his helpless form and her surroundings...

Plaxica 70/70

Everything had happened very fast. Between the appearance of the elf and the knocking out of the female he had had not time to intervene. Slowly he drifted to the ground in his owl form, close to Vincent and then shifted back to his human form.

"Do you need any help?"

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

These were things that worked to anger him; when folk dashed off against his instructions, before he was even out of their sight. Not important now, he told himself.

Doubtlessly, in the chaos following the assassination attempt on Silverfall, the one responsible had worked to clear up any trace to his, or her, identity. Few clues would be found here.

Marcos moved to stand by the stairs. Any wanting to go up to see Silverfall would have to come by him. And he would stop them until he had all suspects gathered at the inn.
