"He ...was here?...But how...?"

Larry found it suddenly very hard to concentrate on anything except the memory of when he last saw the creature that he had been separated from. Not even three weeks ago had he looked into the eyes of the demon that he had created within himself alive and glaring back at him. Not many people had the opportunity to face their own evil sides, and Larry wished that he had not been one of the unlucky ones to have done so. It had put a fear into him that he did not know even could exist in mortality.

He nervously sipped on his tea, not being able to shake the cold feeling that had come over him.

Roderik

Testing the granite walls had proven them to be thick, and unaltered, so he turned his attention to the floor, he looked up when Andrion spoke and mumbled something about waiting a few more minutes. He then proceeded to tap the hilt of his dagger on the floor as he scanned it carefully for any seam, hole, or drain for the moisture, avoiding getting underneath and stalactites (piercers were a favorite trap placed in caves as guards) he tapped around in a spherical pattern starting at the center of the room and working outward in concentric circles listening carefully for any change in the pitch of the noise coming from the rock.

Roderik is satisfied that everything about this room seems secure and safe. Then all three party members scout about for any treasures that the Lamia may have had in here from previous kills. Besides animal carcases, they do find the remains of five humans that seem to have died at the same time by the looks of their decay stage. Their possessions are piled up in a corner near their eaten and mangled bodies.
Here is a list of what is found.

1. Rotted clothing, apparently black leather and cloth.

2. Four rusted daggers of no worth anymore.

3. Deerskin boots that have been rotted away.

4. One ruby ring with a gold band.

5. 263 gold pieces.

6. Two vials of blue liquid.

Roderik

(ooc Yoink) Upon sighting the golden band with the gem inset Roderik pocketed it, glancing at it carefully for markings that would identify it as an item he has possibly heard of, inscriptions, runes, etchings in the gem, anything of note at all are scanned for, and the two vials are held aloft for the party to witness before he tells them he will attempt to identify them as well (no mention of the ring, it is... my precious *makes a "gollum" sound in the back of his throat*)

"The vials if not spoilt by ill treatment or age could prove to be very usefull" The bard also checks the vials for any obvious labels before opening them, sniffing the contents, dabbing a bit on his tongue and generally trying to decide what they are.

ooc please Pm me with the details of the items (I wouldn't know if I got them right or not, so whatever I tell the party will be even less trustworthy *chuckle*

Roderik

Holding up the bottles Roderik announced, "they seem to be healing potions, they'll prove useful I'm sure." He gave one to Silt and put the other in his pocket, "and we each get 87 gold coins, not bad if I say so myself" (the extra two coins found homes in the folds of his colorful cloak)

Andrion Wilgor

Andrion took his share of the gold, and put it in the leather pouch he usually kept gold coins in. He then put it back in his pocket. While Roderik was trying to find out what the vials contained Andrion walked over to the bodies. He felt that something was strange about them. Something could be found out from them still maybe. He first looked over their belongings: the rotted clothing and the boots, the rusted daggers. They had evidently been dead for some time.

Andrion suddenly had an idea. What if he invoked the spirits of the dead to interrogate them on the circumstances of their deaths? He recalled a spell he had rarely used before and cast it.

The skull that Andrion chose to speak to sat motionless, yet a faint red haze formed in it's eye sockets.

"What do you want with me, ugly mage? Send me back now!"

Arcades looks to Tao and smiles back and then looks back to Larry, taking a seat and shaking out his wings a bit. [b]"I dont believe I helped much. The creature that was brought forth wasnt injured very much by my lightning."

Andrion Wilgor (OOC:aka ugly mage )

Andrion felt anger surging through him.

"If you do not help me then I shall scatter your bones and that way your soul shall never be able to rest in peace."

"However if you help us, we shall give you and your companions a proper burial."

"Tell me about this cave and the tunnels. What do they contain?"

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

His crossing the plains proved, much as he had expected, a far from exciting journey
*. With his sense of distance largely disrupted by the hurried trek away from clashing dragons, Marcos was trusting mostly to the skies and heavens in order to find the trail of Silverfall's party.
As he went he opened his mind's eye to the dark auras around him, so as not to be caught unawares a second time.

Although the inquisitor had lost valuable time already, he had no intention of urging his steed to higher speeds just yet. The unfamilliar region and far from even ground would both needlessly exhaust the animal, and decrease his awareness of his surroundings.
He had little doubt in his mind there would be a time for great haste sooner or later.

* ooc: I just know this line alone is going to get me in trouble...
