Tao, Arcades, Morg

And this is what happened.

The golden dragon had called forth a storm to commence a round or two before actually getting onto the field, and before the Render had appeared as well. Upon arriving there, Arcades saw the Render and realized that his storm was now ready for effective use. Calling upon the storm, he called lightning down from it. Given his level, the lightning was more than a mere spark of pretty light.

A dice roll was made, calculations about the Render's defences were made, and the end result was not a good one for Mr. Render. He has suffered damage by lightning, and has gone into his Berserk Fury mode, which adds stats to his already impressive stat sheet.

I do not have any information on the strength of the trees in their ability to hold him, so I will consider him bound for at least one round as a stun spell effect until I can better determine the ability that the trees have. Tao, if you can offer any information on the trees, that would be cool. If not, I will have to find something to compare them to.

Render has been stopped for one full round. Despite his terrible damage done until his body, he appears to be more angry than ever, and shows no sign of weakeness.

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

Looking at Larry and the quickly departing Arcades, Vincent reaches down to his girdle and starts feeling around at some of the small bumps on it. Finding the one he was looking for he smiled and stuck his hand inside a pocket that should not have been able to hold his hand. Pulling out a small silky looking bad he looked at Larry again." Unless you happen to remember if this little trinket is trapped I have something that can help in detecting if it has been magically set in place so to speak. From a quick observation I see nothing that looks like a normal trap.Either way, from waht the golden fellow say's we best hurry"

Correction on the post against the Render. The trees are strong enough to hold the Render for an indefinate amount of time. He is furious and trying to wiggle loose, but the trees hold firm. This drives the creature insane with anger and hatred. However, he moveth not.

Tao...for the length of the spell, the beast is at your mercy.

"Right...good call. Go ahead and check it out. I should think that your plan is the safest for both of us."

Vincent, upon searching the pedestal that the necklace resides on, you do detect a spell on the pedestal itself that would trigger a trap if the necklace were removed. In fact, it seems to be that the pedestal is the actual trap.

Andrion Wilgor

Andrion had no idea what a Naga was, even less what a Dark Naga was. He turned to Roderik: "You seem to know a lot about the mystical creatures we seem to meet. Would you mind explaining what a Dark Naga is?"

The winds slowly die down, becoming a more suitable breeze around the area, and she slowly stops spinning as she lowers her hands. Her eyes are wild-looking, and her hair still moves as a cloak behind her although the wind does not touch her anymore.

An almost audible sigh is heard from the forest, and the mighty oaks that have trapped the Render quite sufficiently tighten their grip just enough to make sure the Render, who is becoming more frenzied per second, does not escape.

She sighs and looks at Arcades as she whispers upon the wind, ”I have no choice but to send this poor creature out of harm’s way. I cannot in good faith destroy it, as it has come to me that the poor thing has been made this way. I can sense the wizardy upon him.”

She reaches into a pouch and pulls out a flat round stone the size of her hand. The stone is marked with the signs for Earth and Air, with two runes carved onto the back in quicksilver. She places the runes on her palms over both sides of the stone, sets in her mind the exact location within the ice caverns in Dragonmount she wants, and whispers one word…

“Air falbh!”
She throws the disc at the Render. The disc stops in mid-air directly in front of it, and begins to spin rapidly. White flames begin to whirl around the disc, and a brilliant flash of blue lightning hits the disc.

A very brief flash of ice covered rocks, the smell of snow, and the Render disappears.

Raising a hand to her forehead, she winces slightly then looks up smiling at the Oaks.

”I release you from your awakening. Go back to your dreams of fair weather and good sun my old friends. Thank you for your help. We will all be repaid in the end….”

The massive roots slowly stretch, then begin the process of burying theirselves back into the moist dark earth. One small tendril moves quickly over the ground, and wraps briefly around her boot, squeezing lightly, then also disappears back into the ground.

She slowly sinks to the ground, and sits, shaking her head back and forth as she pulls some herbs from one of her many pouches and looks up at Arcades..

”Would you please start me a small fire? And retrieve my wolves from under my cloak? I need to restore myself….”

Arcades complies with Tao's requests, making a small fire close to her and pulls the cloak off the wolves, sending them back over to her. He then walks over and lays down beside her, the firelight making his scales glitter.

[b]"Interesting magic you used. I havent seen the trees act like that before."

Roderik

An elven female, he had seen a few, and barring disfiguring scars or injury they all posessed an unearthly beauty, this one was no different...

"A naga you say, I've heard of them, but not a dark naga... A naga is similar to a snake, with the face of a man, and the tail stinger of a scorpion, very deadly, and not something to be casual about facing. And if my lore serves correctly, they wield powerful magicks as well.

"Milady elf, we shall protect you from this beast as best we can.

"Well now, it would seem that there is a slight problem, I am good at working most traps, and have had some experience with magical one's, but those have mostly been disastorous," he pauses for a moment and runs his hands through his hair." sooo you wouldnt happen to know what enchantment you may have used on this pedistle. If not I do have means of triggering it or I can attach one of my grapple arrows to it with a chord and we can climb to the top and give it a good yank. I can try to decipher what spell is being used as a trap however."

ooc: Vince will try to see if there are any runes or what have you and use his read magic ability. The powder he has will also help high light any such runes if there are any.

"Yeah...I remember a little. Part of the trap is all this water on the ground. When I built the trap, I used the available resource as an extra in the trap design. But I have no recollection of how to disarm it or what it even is! Sorry. "

Upon further examination, Vincent notices no runes around the pedestal, but his expert eyes do notice something. Upon extensive viewing, only the best eyes could see that there is a thin gold wire, nearly impossible to see, hooked around the chain, entwinded within it to make one think that they were looking at only the chain. However, under the chain, the gold wire goes into the stone. It is assumed that by picking up the necklace would pull on the thin wire, thus releasing the trap.
