OOC>>> I feel the irony, Skye I would have posted more earlier, but we've been shifting houses and it's stressful work, especially when I didn't quite dare to apply for more vacation leave to help out (it's the peak period at work and bosses aren't too happy if we go off)...

IC>>>
Mistral

The earthquakes in her head were dying down, replaced by steady buzzing vibrations ~ No point telling me all that, whoever you are... ~ Watching him, she swallowed a slow gulp ~ You've only confirmed death is a better fate. ~ And she began to snicker inwardly, amazed at her sense of the ludicrous at this point of danger ~ Didn't the heroines bite off and swallow their tongues in the old drama serials? That ended their torment fast enough... ~ Sniffling ~ I wonder what my blood and tongue would taste like... ~ But it was quite impossible, she knew, to attempt the feat ~ How painful and gory it would be... eewww...

As her mind continued to engage in callisthenics, she closed her eyes, hearing her own erratic heartbeat thundering in her ears.

"I have a request... erm, if it's not too much trouble. There are two small metal suitcases in my room, it would help if I were to have them, oh and I would strongly recomend that you don't try to open them."

Bakilas tries not to smile as he imagines Orrick opening the case and the reaction to the little surprises he had set up in case someone other then himself gained position of his "tools".

Orrick glances at Bakilas in irritation, and nods at the curtain behind him, a few minutes later both request have been filled, several valet's have brought in the two suitcases, as well as a wide assortment of firearms, from submachine guns, to Chekoslavakian Skorpions (the automatic pistols Neo uses in the lobby scene of the Matrix), to old style revolvers.(no rifles, hunting, assault, or machine guns) "Take your pick, they are from my private collection, if any of them are damaged and you survive, you'll be paying me for them for a VERY long time."

Bakilas carefully picks up and examines the Skorpions, unsure if the equipment in his case will be enough he places the automatic pistols on top of one of the suitcases. "Well I am ready."

With that statement he leans back in his chair and wait impatiently.

Storm just watched the whole thing in disbelief. What did these people expect from him?

"Excuse me...but...I do not understand my role in this mission you are sending us on. Am I suppose to go shoot somebody up because you want me to? I don't get it. What if the guy is the good guy, for we certainly are not..."

Storm looks over at his new friend eyeing the guns and other things. He said nothing, but turned away from him and back to his new "leader".

Thalali scooted over to Storm and wispered in his ear veeerrrryyy softly "Play along." He scooted back to his seat and picked out a sub-machine gun and some extra goodies to attach to it later.

He is extremely overconfident, that's probably his greatest failing, but he's also been around for almost one thousand years, so he's well justified in being confident.

"Don't think that this mission is to kill him, although if you get a chance, by all means feel free to send him to his final death. But the reason you are going to to get information, Tzimisce are notorious for being gracious hosts, and will risk their own lives to protect their guests, as long as he doesn't think you have turned from a guest into a trespasser you'll be safe. Just remember your manners and don't freak out over his servants, he likes to "improve" on the human design and try to make the perfect slave.

"Are there any other questions?
"

He pulled a cell phone from his well tailored suit and talked into it for a few moments, then shortly afterwards a young man walked in with a suitcase, set it down in front of Gwynne and left quickly not even waiting for a thank you.
ooc- whoo, just got back from a "college tour" in massachusetts... anyone here go to MIT?

ic- Gwynne scowled slightly to herself, and felt the top of her boot to make sure the knife was in it's hidden sheath. "Had I known this was going to be a social call, I would have dressed a little more... nicely."

She scooted the briefcase closer to her without checking what was inside -- she trusted Orrick's judgement. "Thank you for providing me with weapons. This may seem a silly question to ask but..." she hesitated, as if unsure to ask. "Is it possible for vampires to read human minds? If that is the case, wouldn't that make me a liability? He could find out from me that we mean him harm..."

Gwynne felt a little ridiculous in asking the question, but until 2 days ago she didn't even know that vampires existed.

With the faintest sneer, Orrick looks at Storm, and his Tone makes you feel that he is vastly more dangerous than you had imagined before, his tone is no longer casual and you think you may have greatly offended him, "You will go on this "mission" because I asked you nicely, and have given of my hospitality, the Fiends are so named for a reason, but I'll let you decide that for yourself, since you ignore my caution. I do not now, nor have I in many centuries tried to uphold the facade that I am "good" or "noble", I exist and broker power for myself, if I viewed him as a threat I wouldn't send a group of novices to dispose of him, I would call a hunt for his lifeblood among all of the vampires in the area. I ask you to go because if you succeed you will have more personal knowledge of the workings of vampire society and that might let you survive beyond mugging people in alleyways and drinking from bums in the gutter.

"As for the rest of you, if you wish to kill the fleshrender guns will only irritate him, a wooden stake will paralyze him, and fire will destroy him as easily as you, I'm not saying tearing him apart with bullets is a bad way to aproach the situation, but he'll only stay down a short time, and when he gets up, he will be very upset.
" As he finished his calm and icy demeanor was back, and there was no evidence of him losing his temper.

OOC: Vampires can drain each other dry in a method known as Diablerie, where you drink the very soul from your victim, if they are of older generation than you, you can increase your power drastically by doing so, only one vampire can drain in this way, so several vampires cannot swarm an elder and each get a portion of his power. However it is frowned upon by most vampires, and will mark you for some time as a diablerist, as the spiritual residue lasts for a minimum of one year. Just an FYI, not that I'm expecting you guys to try it, well not all of you anyway.

He turns to Gwynne, and replies, "Read minds, no, control the weak willed, yes, speak telepathically, yes, and all in all, a very good question, I can see why you are favored, you know which questions are important, and do not fear overmuch to ask them." He chuckles slightly, and opens his cell phone and begins talking in a germanic language.

ooc- aww, Morgy, you know just how to compliment a girl

ic- Gwynne's cheeks flushed slightly with the compliment, especially since Orrick had ragged on the other vampires only moments before, but didn't let it go to her head.

After checking herself over once more she decided she was ready to go. Gwynne made a half-hearted attempt to listen and understand Orrick's one-sided conversation on his cell phone, while she waited for the others to finish preparing themselves, but was unable to make heads or tails of what he was saying.
