lurin overhearing the conversation, and picking up a lot of the draconic turned to ryukari. "ty yf true y aky opi like pathris, however y chan si maes guk char naidar cha ders stofaw being, but y ilalmayr never run othyr such o person, yi never chan" he said this politely, to the dragon he was always good at languages, and learnt quickly, having to move from town to town constantly. turning towards turgon he said"what door do you recommend that we use? if we use the door in best condition we are most likely to meet more of the creatures we have alredy seen." . then turning to skye he said quietly." ghar yf o reason ders other doors uko opi used, iko suggests ghar olu syr more than goblins zi those..." he stopped and returned to the doors. he attempted to use his tracking skills to see how long it was since the last creature passed through it..

ooc: Skye, the zombies kind of lost their pop-tart rating when they started decomposing... That's one of the major rules of the pop-tart registry! See!:
"16. A pop-tart must not attract maggots, be in a state of decay, or generally be dead."

Lurin

Your tracking abilities reaveal that the door to the South seems to bear more recent and frequent use. You would say something has walked through here today. The door to the West does not seem as worn by use. You would say something still stepped through it within the past 2 days though.

ooc- erm, k-spree, is Lurin able to pick up draconic that quickly? it's known for its complexity, and unless he has some bonus that enables him to learn it this fast, perhaps it would be better for him not to speak it. no offense DA, just trying to keep in context with our level 1 chars. Ryukari understands some elvish and common 'nyways

sowwy for being all speechy with your char starshadow. im not very good at serious speeches, especially when I'm tired. ^^; i dont think Skye would really care if Pathris did say any of that aloud... she doesn't often care what others think of her.

k-spree, does Skye find anything of use or discover other creatures? cant really post til you say... and i want a book of all the poptart rules

Pondering over Lurins question, Turgon lightly shook his head and raised his shoulders. He walked over to the southern door, and came to the solution that this door seems to be most frequent. But Lurin has probably figured this out already, he thought to himself, and went back to his ponderings.

His thoughts suddenly turned towards the eastern door, where Pathris sat. He walked over to it, and studied the pile. I wonder why someone would care to build a pile of stones here...

Realizing that he now had been quiet for a long time, Turgon went back to Lurin, and looked over the room one final time.
"Well, to me it seems like the southern door is the obvious way to go. As you probably already have found out, it seems to be most used, and will lead to an exit. The western door also seems somewhat of frequent use, but to me it looks like it haven't been used in a while." He looked at Lurin to get his thoughts confirmed. "This probably means that it will be a less dangerous route, but also a longer one.
So to me, it seems like all we really have to figure out is if we are ready for more enemies. Who knows what the outcome of a battle with the zombies had turned out to be, if it weren't for our little friend Ryukari. And my wisdom tells me that we can't lay our hopes on a recently hatched Dragon."
Looking at the others, Turgon continued, with a surprisingly serious voice.
"We also have another option, though," he said, and gestured against the eastern door. "The pile of stones is probably put up as a barricade, but it is poorly constructed. I believe that Lurin could manage to destroy it, with enough help from Pathris."
After a quick look on the rogue, Turgon spoke his final thoughts.
"The barricade must be there for a reason. If we're lucky, it was to keep possible escaped prisoners out of this room. Perhaps it is a quicker route to an exit.
However, it is also maybe put there to keep dangers out, or something like that. It may even be swarmed with enemies.

If I were to choose a door, I would first try to get the blocked one open.
Lurin, as a Ranger, should be more danger-sensing than the rest of us. I suggest that he decide, after what he feels as a woodsman."
Turgon carefully nodded to the others, and awaited a reply from Lurin.

OOC: Phew! I hardly think I've ever had so much direct talk in one post! Hopefully, you don't get too exhausted reading it.

ooc: Well I didn't say he could speak draconic! Sorry bud, no more dragon speaking for you, you don't have the intelligence, wisdom, or charisma score to be picking it up in less than a game day. You can still translate it and read what we're saying ooc, but Lurin shouldn't know or be able to speak it yet.
Skye, I'll PM you the laws of the pop-tarts.

Skye
Apart from the torture equipment and the things that everybody has seen, you really don't notice anything else.

Lurin & Turgon
Turgon's guess that Lurin might be able to sense some danger didn't prove fruitful, the dark torture chamber was unlike the natural places Lurin was best at searching. Lurin COULD however tell that by the formation and shapes of the rocks, that they had fallen from the cieling of the subterranean dungeon, and because of the haphazard pile they formed, were probably not tampered with to form a defense.

ooc: Given the fact that our little friend Ryukari has hardly said anything, it is certainly not possible for Lurin to have much of an idea of what the language is. You certainly would not be able to speak an entire language just from hearing a few sentences. Not even the almighty Pathris, with his wonderful intelligence score, could do that.

Skye darling, if you feel your character should speak to Pathris like that, then go ahead. It's always nice to have more to use to characterize Pathris.

Pathris' mind wandered as he continued to look at the torture implements. He was certainly curious about the little dragon and wondered how much of what he said it had understood. It was definitely an interesting little thing, and it appeared to be intrigued by the rougue. "Perhaps a little deal could be worked out between the two of us," he thought. "I teach it a little bit of my language and it teaches me a little bit of his own. But how do I propose this deal, keeping the woman out of it?" He pondered this for a while.

Hearing his name mentioned once again, Pathris turned back to the rest of the group. Apprently, Turgon had decided that he had to see what was behind the barricaded door and he wanted Lurin and Pathris to find a way to do it. And while that might satsify his (and admittedly, Pathris' own) curiousity, it was probably not the smartest thing to do. Which led Pathris to the conclusion that the man was either a sorcerer or a bloody stupid wizard. Pathris had his money on the former, even though the thought of Turgon being a stupid wizard would not surprise him.

He walked back over to the group and surveyed the situation. Lurin had come to the conclusion that the barricaded door wasn't really barricaded but instead the pile likely resulted from a falling of rocks from the ceiling. With this new information, Pathris figured that it probably meant that the corridor behind that door was not used now that the door could not be opened. "Well, if you want to take a try at getting through that door with the rocks by it, I suppose it's worth a shot. Probably not being used now, seeing as how it's blocked. Probably the safest; at least, for a little ways. Ryukari, what do you think?" he said in Elvish. He figured the more he spoke to the little dragon, the more it might get used to him and be more amicable to his offer.

ooc- you seemed to have left off at rule #12 k-spree.. or did you have no more? you wrote 12 but never filled it out, hehe. ah well
edit- oops, just checked pms my bad k-spree I think i don't really like #15.. we cant have poptarts fighting over the poptart maiden? *pouts* ok, i think i filled my smilie quotia by now.. ^^;

Pathris shouldn't let Skye's conversations with him be misleading.. you never know what's going on in a woman's complicated mind if he thinks she's misjudging him, perhaps he's doing the same

ic- Skye didn't find anything of real interest, unless a person could find items of torture interesting. Then again, Pathris seemed to be facinated (ooc- stupid word, don't remember if there's an "s" in there anyplace.. -.-; ) with the things. Skye rolled her eyes and sighed, ignoring Ryukari's questioning look. She didn't really like how Pathris kept talking to Ryukari about the torture intruments. 'He* is still just a child,' she thought. 'That's the problem with people nowadays... just naturally assume that all "animals" are bloodthirsty and stupid.'

She stretched with another sigh. The morbidity (ooc- is that a word? now it is..) of the room must be getting to her, to make her think with such seriousness. She regretted she had given Pathris that silly speech of hers... it hadn't been necessary in the first place. She peeked over in the direction of the three men, noticing Turgon and Lurin talking over what to do about the door, while Pathris was grimacing and sending looks that said "Baka**!" all over it to Turgon. Skye grinned and scratched her left ear. Nothing's changed.

She strode over to the group and asked them "What's going on? Are you in need of my assistance or," she added with light sarcasm and a smirk, "considered to be the weaker of the two genders, should I just get out of the way?" Pathris asked Ryukari a question in elvish, and the golden wyrmling looked at Skye questioningly. "Fus olu voice kvan opinion affe ders matter. Aky opi syr too trust valamoix fi ders fes awiras, but aky opi remain raal urtusk fi nua." she smiled at the small dragon encouragingly. "If fus eso nua si translate ayo words jhala riilyr zel si fus, or translate ayo thing jhala fus eso si ekren riilyras, tosz ask nua. Ty yf fi no burden si nua."

Skye looked towards the others, realising that draconic must be an irritation to them, not knowing what she and Ryukari spoke of. 'I wonder if Ryukari can speak telepathically,' she mused silently to herself. "If any of you would like me to translate anything, or perhaps learn a few words in draconic, just ask. It is too complicated to teach you all of it, but you could at least better understand it," she said with a smile.

*he referring to Ryukari, not Pathris
**edit- realised some people may not know what "baka" means ^^; it generally means stupid, idiot, moron, and other trivial silly words like that

(ooc) just having a bit of fun with the translator..lol

lurin looked at turgon. "those rocks have been formed from the ceiling, they have not been stacked in the position of a wall" he then turned to the east door, and then too the west. he then looked towards the group. "both these doors have been used in the last fourty eight hours, the southern being the most recent. i myself would not feel right making a decision, but my gut would point to the eastern door. i do not think that the door used the most will lead to the exit, mainly because that is not the place that most of the creatures in this place are sent to. i believe that the southern door is more likely to lead to the master, and barracks. i do not feel right making the final decision however so i will leave it up to you" with that lurin turned, and waited.

Nodding at Lurin, Turgon turned to Skye.
"Well, at the moment, there isn't much you can do. We're still just deciding on which door to choose, and it seems like we're going for the eastern one. Do you agree?" Turgon smiled at Skye, and went over to Pathris.
"We'll be heading out the eastern door," he said in High-Elvish. "I assume you'll come after us? We'll probably need your skills as a Rogue further down in this dungeon."
He now looked down at the Dragon. He saw that it curiously returned his look.
"Hello, Ryukari. Nice work over there, with the zombies." Turgon looked at Skye, and continued. "You've been quite lucky with the choice of a mother. She's quite a lady, ain't she?" He grinned at the Dragon, and went over to the eastern door.
"Well, shall we get going?," he said, gesturing to Skye and Lurin. "There's no need for us to sit here and wait for more goblins and undead."

(ooc: Oooh boy, what's behind door number 3?...
Ah, and I thought I'd take this opportunity to explain my leveling system. Now normally you all would be level 2 right now, having at least 1000 XP points, however I thoroughly despise the spacing of XP in later levels. SO, in this game, you'll be getting a level at a set interval. I am going to say that levels are every 5,000 points. Constantly. Kind of stinks RIGHT NOW, but in later levels you'll love me for it. It may seem a bit too generous, but this is an online game, and it's no fun trying to get 100,000 XP for your next level. PLUS, I figure if at level 15 you go off and beat The Tarrasque (20 Challenge Rating, 840 HP, bigger than a dragon, and so important he gets a 'The' in front of his name.) then you all deserve the level that would produce. Note I reserve the option to change how many points are in a level later on. Oh, and uh, don't go looking for The Tarrasque in a hurry... At this level his nail clippings are dangerous...)

The Party
You open the door to the East, relieved to see that for once you haven't stepped in to a den of monsters. You have entered a hallway. To the North you can see the passage goes on a ways and then makes a turn to the right. Or, directly behind you, to the South, is another door. The opening mechanism is not a door knob though, it slides up, just waiting for your fingers to go between the opening board and the door. This kind of door is often trapped, in your experiences.
