ooc: Yeah, the ratio is a bit uneven. But I guess that happens.

Starshadow smiled at the bard, although she couldn't see it because of the hood. "Yes, you are a bard all right. I've never met one that didn't like to talk." His voice made it obvious that he was smiling. "You couldn't get into your room? I could help you with that. Any thief worth his money can pick a lock, and I happen to have a little skill there. My room is kind of big, but filled with a lot of expensive baubles that I don't really care for. Perhaps you'll like them more than I. So I wouldn't worry much over that."

The elf stopped before heading into the planning room. With a quick movement, the maps disappeared under his cloak, and not a trace could be seen of them. "After you, Skye," he said with a bow. He then adjusted the blades in their sheaths; he wanted to be prepared to use them. He pulled the cloak back, revealing the black leather armor he wore on his chest and the two long swords at his belt.

Only then did he stride in confidently. He quickly looked over the assembled group, noting where each was and where their hands were. He then took a position where he could see everyone and see the entrance to the room. Cautious, but sensible, of course. He wasn't alive still by luck, after all.

edit: Whoops, I had forgotten which color I was using!

ooc- hey, never said i was complaining about the odds...

ic- Skye smiled at everyone assembled in the room and recieved some bored looks. Addressing who she percieved to be the leader she asked "You wouldn't happen to have my key, would you? I can't seem to be able to get into my room," she explained, ignoring the muffled laughter from the assembled thieves. "I thought it would be better to find the key, rather then continually having to pick the lock whenever I felt like locking it." She sat down in the midst of the gathered people and leaned back in her chair, stretching. "Soo, what exactly do you want to discuss with us?" she asked, slightly curious.

ooc- i don't try to ramble Starshadow, I just have a tendency to do so when I have a headache. And do I have a headache~! *winces* prolly from sitting in front of computer screens too much

Shadow looks at the assembled thieves, "Very well I shall begin to outline the plans for your first job. I have been invited to the wedding of Duke Allron's daughter. The duke is currently in possestion of a rather expensive gem that a private collector wants.

Now I will be sending you in as two groups, one through the front door as a group of bards and the other either over the back wall or into the cellar through the back door. You choose the teams that you go in and who leads those groups. I will not be able to accompany you as I will be expected to attend the celebrations."

Edit: Shadow looks up at Skye and slides the key across the table, "Here is your key, I think your room will be satisfactory."

"And what is to be my role in all of this? Hmmm?" Heartless sounded a little agitated. "I'm sure you're aware that this isn't the sort of business I'm used to. And speaking of things we're used to, I'm accustomed to being paid half in advance."

She twirled a lock of golden hair around a finger and looked back up to Shadow. "Unless you've decided on other, more interesting avenues of payment?"

OOC: I hope it's not to late for me to get involved. Had a lot to do before Christmas. Sorry if my first post is long. Trying to get my character's description in detail.

IC: Leeta crossed her arms and leaned against the doorway, while listening to the plans being made. When there was a pause in the speech, she used the chance to make her presence known (although some of the more experienced members might have already noticed).

"Sorry I'm late. My last target made me chase him a while, so I had to take a little more time to punish him for that before handing him over for the reward. If there aren't any rooms left, I won't mind sharing with someone." She eyed the men in the room and sized up the female competition.

Leeta's appearance usually caused a few eyebrows to raise in wonder. She was 5' 10" and built more sturdy and muscular than most farm women, but not as large as barbarian women. Her wavy, strawberry-blond streaked with darker red, hair was pulled back loosely into a long braid, but a few strands escaped to fall just short of her dark amber eyes, that seemed to glow red when she got excited. The weapons that were slung across her back and hanging from her belt, were plain and without jewels, but very well made. There was a fresh bandage around her arm, just below the elbow.

ooc: I never said you ramble, Skye! Your character said she was rambling, and I just said that bards love to talk. Just citing the difference between quiet thieves and loud bards.

Starshadow looked around the assembled party, noting some of the new faces. He glanced in Heartless' direction and noticed the daggers. "Those were the ones I caught a glimpse of earlier," he thought. "So she was the one spying on the conversation. I wonder why she'd didn't join the conversation...? Best be wary of her." He also admired the legs of the woman while he was at it. Even if she was a human. He wasn't blind, after all.

"Okay, who else needed keys to get into their rooms?" he asked aloud. "If you can't get into your room without a key, how can I expect you to open any other lock?" He was a professional and he expected the same out of the others. So far, he'd been disappointed. Maybe it was a mistake to join.

He turned to Heartless. "You'll get paid after the job is over. We have to see what we come out with first. The guild has no reason to shortchange you; if it wants to keep your services, you will be paid." His eyes moved towards Shadow underneath the hood. "That's the normal way things are done, at least."

Starshadow noticed a newcomer at the entryway; a rather tall and well-built human woman. "I wouldn't expect an Elf maiden to walk in that door, would I?" he thought. He was impressed with the bandage on her arm; she, at least, was battle tested.

"How many bards do we have? Unless I'm mistaken, we only have one. This means we're going to have to have a couple of make-shift ones. Who can play the part of a bard?" He paused a moment. "I can lead the second group, if you want, but I'll need competent people. I need wall climbers, lock pickers, lookouts, and so on. If you do not have an exceptional talent in one category, I say you go with the bards."

Now that they were talking about a job, Starshadow went into professional mode. He knew how to get things done; he had the experience, after all. "Of course, the final decision does fall on our guildmaster." It was almost an afterthought, really, as Shadow had not proven that he was capable of handling things.

ooc: I think this should get things moving.

ooc: Something seems a little odd here. I read that we were all 1st level characters which implies little or no experience in each of our professions. On the other hand, we have in Shadow a character that has amassed enough wealth to buy a castle which, in my mind, should obviously imply to every novice character that he has dominance here.

Anyways, I just thought I'd point that out. Some of us seem to be on different pages with regards to experience, capabilities and appropriate magical items for 1st level characters. Maybe I'm wrong though. No offense intended.

ooc: Where'd you read that? I don't think shadowhound ever mentioned that we were bringing in 1st level characters. I think it's more that we're a gathering of decent level loners that have decided to form a guild in order to take on tougher jobs/adventures/etc.

edit: It wouldn't make sense for a bunch of 1st level characters to form a guild anyway. We'd be easily overrun by any other Thieves Guild in the area.

ooc: Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I thought I had read somewhere that we were beginners, but maybe I assumed it from the few number of proficiencies everyone has. Like I said, I could be wrong. It just seems as though some of us are assuming more power from the outset than others. But it appears that I was the one on the wrong page.

Ferron looks over to Shadowhound. "Im sure you are already aware Shadow, but I am an excellent entertainer with a pair of daggers." In a flash, he drew a dagger, twirled it in the palm of his hand and it vanished only to come wizzing over his head from behind him and landing in a pocket in the front of his cloak. "I use no magic." he says. "Perhaps I could be part of the entertainers group."

Ferron gets up from his chair and goes to greet the woman at the door. "Welcome to the guild," he says, bowing his head in greeting, "I am Ferron, what is your name?"
