I am stuck in the town of Ish'ad Na!!! As soon as I leave the town to go to Shurgeon Ruins, there are 3 Amazoni plants directly outside that kill me in no time. I can't run away, fight, or even cast a spell to heal myself. I have downloaded the cheat to make it to where your characters will not lose health, but that has a delayed response to it. Takes about 3 seconds to heal me up from the damage, but they kill me in around 2 seconds. I am also unwilling to cheat, and give my characters 9999 hit points, because that is permanent. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks. |

I'd go back to a save before the first encounter with them.. though that might hurt just as much if it's too far back in quests and all.. Not sure what else to suggest.
My party with two wizards and Flamedrop took them out, but we had plenty of backing up space so it wouldn't work for you I'm afraid. Sorry not to be of more help.. E |

Another way might be to go out the other gate, use the toughen spell repeatedly as long as you can cast it on one character to raise 10 hps per cast. Then go back into town and back outside. Will become permanent hps. Repeat on each character, until you've reached your guilt plateau, then go back out the west gate and kick mantrap fanny.

Based on an earlier post, I would bet the Mantraps or whatever take a percentage of your points, no matter whether you are beefed up or not. Maybe a half of max HP at a time or more. If you truely get stuck, run past them like hell (this may not work). There may be a spell you can use but I doubt it until you are more advanced. They are really vicious early on. At this stage of the game, I was lucky to kill off ONE of the suckas by moving up to it and hacking away. This beast was one of the hardest, and you will run into a few bigger brothers down the road... Once they attack, you are lucky just to run away from the green poison cloud with no one killed. Don't stand there at a distance (within their range)whatever you do!

What are you talking about? Just wait for the daylight and kill them from a distance with long-range-spells and they won't move. It's easy!! No need to cheat! I killed three of them with just my two wizards.

Yes, Incinerate got 'em through a gap in the trees. I was dead lucky - I could see them, but they couldn't hit me, so I could literally just wait for mage spell points to recover. There were 5 of them in that group - good experience - hope there's more somewhere (but not behind me).

Yes, all of these are great ideas, but there is one MAJOR problem. They are DIRECTLY outside the gate. The outside finishes loading, and there they are. I can't backup, because the town wall is in the way. I can't run through them, because those little buggers are spaced almost perfectly apart. If I try to run through each one breathes on me, and I usually croak on my way past the third one.
