Making it only usable by mage killers would be a good substitute. If you can actually make it that would be really cool. My email again is benlawler2000@yahoo.com Thanks!

They also have forums with a higher percentage of editing types. IEEP works with almost all the files in BG2 - the only exception I know of are the PLT files, which TeamBG cant edit anyway. Should you happen tonned a file that IEEP wont handle download WinBiff.

Sword of the Maunty Haul
This long sword was created by a not very smart DM or Forum member. This powerfull weapon can kill anything, but will also kill your fun. Combat Abilities: Each Hit Cast Dragon's Breath, Meteor Swarm, Death Spell, Harm, Doom, Power Word: Kill, Dispell Magic. The victim get no Saving Throw Every hit permanently raise your hit points and all attributes by 200. Once per day, You can cast "End of the world". This spells will kill all enemies in the game and raise your level by 1000000000. Every time you use this sword, there is a 1% cumulative chance that you will lose all your players, and that your friends will finally find out how stupid you are to have introduced such an overpowered item in your game. Thaco: +50 Bonus Damage: 2d100+50 Damage type: Crushing, Slashing, Piercing, Fire, Acid, Lighting. Weight: -100 (it lower your burden by 100) Speed Factor: -10 (improve your initiative by 10) Proficiency Type: Long Sword, You are considered grandmaster in Long Sword as long as you wield it. Requirement: None Usable by: Not very smart players. In case you did not understand by now, this is my way of saying that 90% of the items posted here are Overpowered and should never be allowed in a game. If you feel like I am an idiot and that I don't know what I am talking about, you obviously meet the requirement of my sword, feel free to add it to your game.

um, luvian, we all appreciate your comments (well, not all) and i just want to say that we DID mention that they are overpowered and just for fun. actually, some items implemented in the game are allready redicuously overpowered. Corsamyr (hate that sword), Crom Faeyr, BlackRazor, Staff of the Magi, ect. its only a for fun thing and not to take into a duel or anything. geeze, take all the fun away why dont you.
with that said, i would like to post my "Kensai Elven Chainmail" Elven ChainMail+4 Ac: 1 Weight: 1 Increases spell casting speed by 4 Usable by fighters (including kensai's) all i did was combine the BladeSingers Chainmail, and the spell speed part of the robe of vecna. needless to say that my kensai loves this armor, and when i dual him to a mage, he will love it even more! This with my Katana+4(defender) that poisons people, he is awesome. he dual-wields the Scorpions Vengeance, and Celestial Fury. MAN he just rocks, lol. all in good fun though. oh, and i have a helmet that kensai's can use too, to protect them from critical hits is all, no ac bonus or anything.

quote: To each his own. Can't blame ya for saying it since most of MY items won't see the light of day( I know those are a bit overpowered and glad you agree). I HOWEVER don't see too much of a problem with some of the other weapons, but I'm not some prick hard-nosed gooodie goodie hypocritical cynic either. After a while few ppl play the game AS IT IS. It's been discussed before that after some time, ppl DO want to customize their games(dunno if you missed out on this or not). The level of the customizing is left to each individual. Some folks want a personal item made for them...ya know, something as a keeper. Others like to CLUA in the alrdy made "uber" items and are content with that. I like to share ideas and see how creative ppl can be. You have done a considerably nice job showing how creative you can be. Now only if it were good enough to use. Sometimes, ppl want items and more creatures and areas hence mods are made. Items - weapons mostly- just appealed as a topic but we can get into creature creation too as you will see. We can discuss or rant over items found/alrdy existing in game or even contribute our own ideas and opinions of known creatures in Memnoch's thread. I think I got your point but.... It's alot better to just say " Man, those items are shittily OVERPOWERED. Who in their right minds would even consider using THOSE!!!" Then scroll up and look at the number of posts and figure it out. I don't know if your sword can really be made in the game or not, UNLESS there was a demon you had to face in the end.... Creature code found Quest status: broken. Creature: code - NWXKCP Description: Brainless Troll The Brainless Troll inhabits the outskirts of mankind seeking to cause havok to civilization. This foul beast was neither a creation of the Gods nor mother nature herself. Through years of biological/megical experiments, one evil necromancer was successful in creating the ultimate killing machine. This creation was also a vessel. The necromancer used it throughout his reign. He later found a way to create immortality - lich form - and disposed of the shell. The necro deliberately took out the brain of the beast so that his own will could flow in this vessel of decay. For some odd reason, the Brainless Troll did not die or decay after the necro left it to rot in the woods. Partly because it was a troll with a high regen rate and partly because of the presence of evil within for so long, the thing just could not perish. Not much has been documented about the origins of the Brainless Troll except for the writings of the necromancer. We do know this however: Brainless Troll regular attack: breathe, every time mouth opens- ppl suffer 12hd of acid dmg. - 20 to THACO and causes permanent blind. Repeated attacks accumulates to enemy being poisoned for 10,000 dmg at 1 dmg per round. No saves or magic resistance is checked. The victim will die a slow death from poison if not by the breathe attack alone or special. This is not curable. ( best thing to do is flee ) Special attack: Brain Devour, the Brainless Troll will probe the minds of it's victims thru usage of it's claws. 10 swings from EACH upper limb per round. Each swing deals out 100 dmg that can not get deflected or shielded from. This attack penetrates all magical shields. Each swing causes a small cloud of vapors to arise dealing out an additional dmg of 25 within a 5 foot radius. Saves vs this at -25. The Brainless Troll tries to wonder what is in it's victims's heads but because it can not think, it will repeatedly carry about doing the same routine thing it's been doing. Special abilities: immunity to all forms of magic and schools of magic. High regen rate of 2500 hitpoints per round. Immune to magical and nonmagical attacks. Hitpoints : 10,000 Speed: 3, somewhat slow but it WILL find you. sight: 1 mile Keen to smell so any invisibility is cancelled out. 3 times a day will hunt for food, killing 200 people for each meal. It sucks the life out of it's victims. So in this case, you bet I would use that sword of yours against the Brainless Troll.

Yes, I agree that if we only talk about these items, then it is fun. But why create them? To use them of course. Are you trying to make me beleive that someone would get to the trouble of creating one of those items and not use it? I don't think so.
By the way, I don' think your Kensei items are so overpowering, considering the items already ingame. Personally, I never create an item for a specific character, because then my opinion of it would be biased. When I create an item, it is when I get some random inspiration, and I always make sure that the item is not more powerfull than the items ingame. After all, if the Devs did not add any more powerfull items, it is for a reason.

I understand about wanting to customize the game, I am making an evil mod myself, because I feel there is not enough items/characters/quest for evil characters.
The thing is that I am, and have been a Dungeon Master for about 6 years, so when I see some of those items posted here, it trigger my "Dm sense". Some of those items are examples of what an inexperienced DM would do. I consider Dungeon Mastering a job, or an art, and I react the same way a repairman would if you told him you opened your tv and removed a few part to repair it yourself. He would probably tell you: "WHAT!?! get away from there and let the job to the professional!!" Edit: I would also add that if someone is really interested in adding items in his game, and understand that when you are making mod you have the responsability to respect the balance of the game, I will be happy to give advices. quote: All understood, maybe it was lack of tact I guess. To be honest... it seemed as if you were attacking the thoughts of some of the posters here - ESPECIALLY the ones who wanted some of their items made. That to me is just well - just say I'm not the only one who may sense that. I'm not a moderator so I can't flat out say " hey it's my business", but we do police ourselves and I think the majority of us knew where this was heading. I probably have said it already but will say it again. I don't too much like creating plus 5 weapons with cool abilities on them to get CLUAED into my games. I just now downloaded a mod linked from teambg. Party of eight I think it's called. I also downloaded my first add-on...and it isn't a weapon nor item. Went ahead and got the displacer beast file - nostalgia. I'm for balance myself, I dislike cheating, I'm all for mods/creativity tho, and I'd rather someone else create more detailed items that aren't so "generic" to find them on my own. I like true neutrals, but don't know if I would play one. I'd make a crapload of true neutral items ( if that's possible)and give em out to players to throw randomly into their games. If they found them, then kudos. Also, who knows.... since ya got so much DM experience, maybe you can turn that into something positive for the forum, - yes even while your senses kick in. AND I would also just watch what I say about DM'ing too. There's some ppl here I'm sure who DM too and have submitted ideas. Don't want your last reply showing that you personally think their DM'in sucks arse just because they introduce an item like this into the game. Who knows what types of creatures they would also talk about if this were the topic. More powerful items mean for more powerful creatures right? Isn't this the direction TOB took? I was thinking of creating an item of summoning after I read the description of the displacer beast. Was going to be an item that can summon some sort of blink dog. Still will try as I hope more still do too regardless of their experience in D&D/PNP games. We're not all the same and you are 100% entitled to your opinions. I'm like that when I talk about cheating...too stern and can be an ass, but in all fairness, we all have to consider how we present ourselves. I'll end it on this: I'm suprised at the quick replies and change of attitude shown in your msg. Definitely and totally different from your first post on this thread as well as your posts on your own thread about kangaxx...the one with the Hhahahahahahah, yes those.

I am like that, when I have someting to say, I will say it even if it can hurt other people. I am not doing it out of fun, I am just like that. When I make post like those, it might seem like I am in a bad mood or something, but I am not.
The reason I made that post about the Sword of the Maunty Haul was so that I don't directly insult the peole that posted. Some of the items that got posted are VERY overpowered, so instead of saying "MAN! are you CRAZY!?! That is totally stupid!" I made that post. I am sure that as long as I post here I will make other extreme post like this one, the one about the neutral evil aligment change , about Imoen getting called a bad name... But I will also always listen to other people's opinion, and if I feel like I am wrong in something I will admit it. quote: Yes, I beleive that if someone can't keep a good balance in his game, then he is not a good DM, and I am not effraid to say it. But that does not mean he should stop DMing. Everyone has been there one day. In my first DMing session I had a God give a Paladin PC a +30 Holy sword that ignore any armor and do Extra damage to evil/demon/undead. Edit: Some typo. [ 02-28-2002: Message edited by: Luvian ]
