Here's one that any old regulars on the BG2 Bar might well recognise.

Karnas

The Sword Karnas was once a simple, if ornate blade, forged and wielded by the paladin Rochelle Foesmyte, a famous heroine of the Order of the Radiant Heart. In recognition of her many deeds, including the slaying of the Green Dragon Thak'lary'iit, the sword was blessed, becoming incredibly light and strong; though whether by Helm, Torm or Tyr - or all three - it is unknown.
The glowing golden sword did not gain true notoriety until Rochelle took it upon herself to hunt and slay the infamous Karnas Thoth, a powerful outcast who delighted in the chaos his magic could cause. Though he had evaded the scrutiny of the Cowled Wizards and the authorities of Amn, Rochelle her few travelling companions succeeded in running him to ground in a chase that lasted a full three years.
Upon his death, Karnas - his body exhausted and his spells drained - began a desperate incantation, the last part of a spell to grant him lichdom. As Rochelle's sword ran him through and the words of power were spoken, something happened that neither of them could have intended - and the soul of the mage ended up inside the blade rather than inside his corpse.
Rochelle was surprised, but made this oath with her gods; that she would carry the blade, she and her bloodline, keeping Karnas a prisoner - until such time as the impossible happened and the mage inside became a good man. Karnas was bound to this enchantment, and it seems the prescence of his soul gives the sword - and any who use it - a certain defence against the magic of others.
Rochelle's intentions were good, but she underestimated the sheer cynicism in the wizard's personality. Over the generations Karnas - who has retained the use of his voice - has been the curse upon the family Foesmyte. His jibes and taunts have worn down the resolve of four successive wielders, and two hundred years of imprisonment seem to him a kind of immortality. There are some who say the youthful enthusiasm of Karnas' new bearer, Tancred Foesmyte, might just prove a match for the scathing wizard; and just as many who say Tancred is beginning to crack already.

KARNAS +3

Cursed weapon
10% chance of Spell Turning against hostile magic

THAC0: +3

Damage type: slashing
Weight: 5
Speed Factor: 3

It's basically a standard +5 katana with equipped effects blur, haste and AC bonus 1. also casts cure light wounds 5 times a day + 1 for everu proficiency point in katanas (in you were a GM you'd get 10 cure lights wounds).

Wouldn't Green Destiny be a longsword? Its design does not fit the dimensions of a katana; furthermore, it predates katanas.

What I have thought is that Green Destiny would make an excellent Sword of Sharpness, but it has eluded me as to how to recreate this effect in the game.

After reading these posts I started to fool around with making some items, but I was wondering if there was a way in IEEP to make bonus increase with level. I'm thinking of a Kensai Katana that gives a minor AC bonus with increase in level

Equipping effects would not change with level; they either happen or they don't. The extension headers, though, could increase with level--if the effect is casting a spell on the target. For the most part, though, items don't increase in power as you increase in level.
You could add an ability that replaces the item you carry with a more powerful version and then use that ability when you level, if you so choose. Or you could add abilities to the item through IEEP as your character advances.
Best of luck on creation!

Hows about...

Sword of Gaxx

THAC0:-4
Dammage 12+4
AC bonus:2
Proficiency: Two-handed sword
Speed:3

Combat Abilities:
Immunity to Death magics (finger of death, death spell, symbol of death, etc...)
Every strike of the weapon will inject poison into the blood of the wounded creature. The poison will do 1 point of dammage every second until the poison is removed.
If the killing blow is made by the sword, the skeleton of the dead creature will rise and fight by the wielders side. Normal rules of 5 summoned creatures apply.

Someone needed to do another .... of Gaxx, didnt they?

The only effect you couldn't create with IEEP is "an additional +3 if wielded by a wizard slayer". Why not just create the sword as is and make it usable by only wizard slayers?

Sorry guys,

I have'nt been keeping up with this thread recently...

ok, i will try and get onto those items...

it will be hard, and some modifications may be made, but i will send them to you once i have done them...

Modifications:

How about only usable by Wizard Slayer, for the Mage Killer sword

and

can't easily do the skeleton thing, but will try...

ummmmm... if anyone wants to try out my items, please ask. They are VERY powerful right now but they are quite fun. don't wear some of the paladin stuff in the city as it will cast magic and you will be caught by the Cowled Wizards...

remember to give me your e-mail so i can send it to you, and please: feedback is what i want MOST... ideas for other items and stuff would be appreciated. Thanx

Seya Later guys!
