I started reading this site before I got my computer. I started reading this site before I bought BGII. Using your wisdom, I started with a Kensai (who may dual someday) and started dreaming about things called Celestial Fury and Crom-something.

Point being -- this morning I saved Imoen, and what a blast! Solving all the riddles, the cool storyline, the Yoshimo betrayal, those blasted Vampires and their energy drains, using my new breach spell I stole off the shopkeep. Wow! How much fun was that. I wish it could be new all over again. And that bag of holding is genius. Thing is, I left with all these mithril coins, so I suppose I'll replay it, since there was probably a use for them in those dungeons.

Thanks all for your messages. And so that this post isn't totally wasted, I do have some questions:

1. Will Jaheira ever get the spell that counters energy drains?
2. I finally got Jaheira a decent weapon (that undead club made outta someone's leg), but Korgan still has standard axe+1. Are there some better axes for him? If so, please give me a name (not locale) so I can eagerly await it.
3. Will I ever get to kill Bodhi? She's pissing me off.
4. Have they made BGIII yet?
5. I have ToB, but when I start a game, I choose to start SoA. Am I doing that correctly?

Thanks all.

1. No. what you want is a cleric. she is a druid.
2. Yes there are better axes, but i'm rather sure you've missed them. try the slums and see what happens. and for the names... I think it's Stone Fire and Frostreaver...
3. Hmm... well.... think of it this way. Did you kill the bad guy in BGI? (if you didn't play that, yes you did)
4. if they have, it's under double secret protection
5. yeah. because you're currently playing and SOA game

Hmmm...I didn't do too many quests yet because I felt that my character's main task was getting Imoen back safely. While I'd love to help some stranger find his son's teddy bear, it didn't seem quite as urgent.

So I haven't done any sewer stuff, but will shortly. After reading all the posts here, you guys would chuckle at my merry band of AC=6, leather armor wearin', ring of regeneration passin' around rag-tags.

1.You can always use scrolls for these my friend.
2.There are 2 +3 axes. One in DeArnisse hold and the other sold by Bernard at the Copper Coronet. There is also some good throwing ones. You get one in the sewers and one at chapter 6 at the adventurers mart.As for Jaheira there are plenty of better weapons for her.Try Trademeet.
3.You are going to enjoy it thoroughly!
4.According to Bioware ToB is the final chapter of the Bhaalspawn storyline.
5.If you want to play SoA you do good.If you want to play ToB you don't.
Also WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!!

HI Hithereboddy! Welcome to Ironworks. An an enthusaist sort too! Here are some answers

Yes you will kill that pisser Bodhi! She annoyed me soo much too. It's like a game of cat and mouse, your the cat, she's the mouse. But the cat gets her. Starting with SoA is a great way to do the BG series. If you do Natalia's quest for the keep, you get a good axe too. Glad to have an enthusiastic person on IW. And stop by the Ironworks roleplaying forum, you'll love it!

Well, if you can get through Bodhi's Maze and what comes next with AC=6 leather, then you'll be much more satisfied than if you had all the cool armour/weapons in the game, and is too easy! If you had done as many quests as possible before going off to Spellhold after Imoen, you'd have lots better stuff to equip, but best of luck to you.

I found that the best way to play the game for the first time is to not use ANY hints/cheats etc and try to finish it. That's the way I've played all of the Infinty Engine RPGs. After doing it once on my own, I have a look at some walkthroughs to see what I missed, and then powergame it with various combinations of chars/NPCs etc.

Now, for the ultimate challenge, I'm trying it solo with a Kensai that I'll dual to a mage. So far, I've done lots of running away and resting!

1) There's also an item, the upgraded Mace of Disruption, which protects its wielder from level drain (which is what you meant, I think).

5) Absolutely correct. You're party is still in SoA, so you continue playing it by choosing SoA.

I also haven't left town yet (other than the voyage to Spellhold). Man oh man am I getting tired of walking around town. Especially with Tanova and her goons chasing me at night.

I can't wait to see some wilderness.

If it's wilderness you want, visit the Umar Hills and the De'Arnise keep. Ahhh....pretty. Moose, groundhogs, pheasants, trees.

I hate it when you say you want to know something about the item, but NOT where it is, and of course some bozo has to tell you exactly where it is. Don't worry, you'll find enough good Axes to keep you happy. Doesn't the Adventurer's Mart stock some Axes+3 or something? I thought he did..... The tricky part, for me, was Bastard Swords. My Undead Hunter was happy to find a Bastard Sword+1 in Irenicus's dungeon, but she was stuck with that damn thing all the way to the Underdark!

My tips to you: Have you downloaded & installed the Bonus Merchants patch? If not, do so. It's not cheating; Bioware intended them to be there, I keep forgetting why they're not included in your CD. And you ARE talking to everybody with a name, right?
