You have to put the .itm-files in the override directory, which can be found in the BGII-SoA directory. Then you can get them into the game by using the CLUACodes.

The "quick and dirty" method is to simply save the customized item into the override folder, then use CLUAConsole to create the item in the game. The other method (the one I use) is to create the item, use the Infinity Add-On Patcher to "export" an IAP file, add my custom item (along with any custom graphic and/or description), create and save the IAP file, then import the IAP file into the override folder. Either way will work. Also, search the forum for posts about creating/importing custom items....

If you have made the items your self then when you save them save them to the Override folder(In the Baldurs gate 2 directory)

If you downloaded them the just place them in there.

If the Items are in .tbg format instead of itm then you need to turn them into .itm using IEES or IEEP downloadable from:
www.teambg.com

To get the item on a character(after it is in the overide folder) I use shadowkeeper a Baldurs gate 2 savegame editor to add it to my inventory.

Shadow keeper from:
http://www.mud-master.com/shadowkeeper/index.html

hope this helps. any question then post again I dont mind helping.

Shadow keeper can be downloaded here
