You mean in the first room with the Egyptian pharaoh-style mosaic on the floor, where all the undead (Zombies, Shadows, Skeleton Warriors, Ghouls and a Vampire) come out of the side rooms? That's not set off by a trap. I think it's just those critters 'hearing' your approach, and attacking you. There's no other way of entering the crypt without fighting them.

EDIT: I typed farao... that's of course 'pharaoh' in English.

However, there *are* several traps as you get closer to the entrance that leads to the next corridor--located on the eyes, and I think, the mouth of the mural on the floor. Once you destroy the undead, be sure you send a thief with a good ability to spot traps ahead of you. The corridor has some traps, too.

One thing, turn undead if you don't want to fight them all. I had Aerie invisible and pressed the skull button to turn undead. Anomen is good for doing the same thing too.

No way around the undead horde as far as I know and I did the area 3 times. There is also a trap on the hand...left hand I think. So add that to the list of known locations for traps. Two eyes, chin, hand, and not sure about the head part. As you approach the area, don't go to the middle. You attract alot more this way. Instead, hit the undead button as you get in and slowly proceed so they don't all come at you at once.

I would have suggested you leveling up some before going there but you aren't too far away from the tomb.

Use turn undead in your favor.
