base lore is determined by your class, inteligence and wisdom. than lore increases as you level up, depending on your class. I'm not sure of exact figures but I think it goes somethin like this: bards get an increase of 10 at level-up, wizards and thiefs 3 and the rest of the classes 1.

I noticed that no matter what minsc always has a lore of zero.
It may just be me but the PC always seems to have a slightly higher lore than he/she should as well. Any thoughts? |

Minsc's problem is probably his bad wisdom and intelligence. just as there is a lore bonus for high wis/int there is a lore penalty if those stats are low.

besides, Minsc has most probably never concerned himself with the lore of histories and magical items.
also, i seem to remember running across an item or two that gave increases to lore but I don't remember what they were and for all I know they could have been in BGI. ------------------ a bunch of long hairs. trux |
