You could have just used the Clua Console to get the gem, and keep playing your game.

Well, yes, you can just go for wholesale slaughter of the entire village. And, as they did turn red and attack you first, you can claim it's self-defense and not lose any reputation. Still feel sorry for the poor guys. There doesn't seem to be a way for any peaceful resolution once they turn hostile on you, 'cept running away. And that doesn't get you a light gem, now does it?

well thats the idiot i killed to get it...though if you haveto be goodytwoshoes about it, get a thief hide in shadows go in, and just kill the mayor....only one down the rest you can let live.
