During the quest u get a scroll and u have to go to Umar Hills to buy a book off a trader. I know what his name was by using trial and error, but what I want to know is how u r meant to decode the scroll!!

Part of the scroll reads thus:

'The need for security is paramount, so you must also utter my secret name, constructed from the name of your immediate master. There will be no mistake with this method. '

OK. The clue os in noting the man you fight in Rejiek's basement - Vellin Dahn. His name is mentioned in the dialog window. He is the 'immediate master' mentioned in the letter.

So:
'Our names are the same in their scale and their cut.'

Vellin Dahn has six letters in the first name and four in the second - so, therefore the other name must.

'The last of his begins just as the first of mine.'

Dahn's last name begins with a D - so must the first name of the other.

'The second of my first is the second of his first, though regressed a full four steps.'

'Vellin' has an E as the second letter. count that back four steps in the alphabet, we get E-D-C-B-A. Hence, the second letter must be 'A'.

'The third of my first is four more than the last of his first.'

Again, Vellin has an N as the last letter. Count forward four steps, to N-O-P-Q-R, and you get an R.

'The entire last of my first is the last of his first, except the first one of these is the first of my last.'

The entire last of 'Vellin' is 'lin'. However, the first of these is the first of the name's last, which is...

'The first of his last is mine plus one.'

Dahn has a D as it's first letter, so take away one from this and you get a C. the first letter of the last name. This must mean the last three letters of the first name are 'cin', according to the above tip.

'The next of my last is the last of his first plus one.'

'Vellin', the first, has as its' last letter N. Add one, you get O.

'The last of my last are third and second, coming in first for him.'

The third and second letters of 'Vellin' are L and E.

Put it all together, and what have you got?

D-A-R-CIN-C-O-LE
