Spellhold problem- Help!

Well, I have 2 questions, really:

1. What item do you need to get to open the exit to Spellhold up? Is it from the portal?

2. Where do you get the gems to activate the portal? I found 2 of them, but I don't know where the 3rd one is.

The items needed to escape from under spellhold can be found in the area to the west of the map where the portal is. 2 of the stones are in baskets in rooms, and one is received in answer to the statue/objects riddle.

E'bola, so far as I know, there IS only one way out of the maze under Spellhold...?

Is the actually question asking for the exit of the Spellhold building (or Island of Brynlaw) or the maze of the Asylum in the first place?

I was actually looking for the exit to the Maze, but I finally noticed that the Minotaur statue was interactive after going through the dungeon about 10 times
