Just trying to figure out what character I want to play Baldur's Gate next with (done the human fighter already). Was thinking of perhaps a dwarf or elf fighter/cleric or mage but don't like the fact that these races have level limitations (eg. level 10 for a dwarf cleric). I know you'll never max out on levels whilst playing BG & TotSC, but what about BGII?

Not ever having played AD&D before I was wondering just what was the background to having only humans with unlimited levels (are all the other races just not ambitious enough!)?

Perhaps one saving grace is that I've read something about if a character's prime requisite is exceptional then higher levels can be obtained above the racial maximum, eg. with a prime requisite of 19 one can gain 4 extra levels. I think I could live with a dwarfen fighter/cleric at 19/14 . Problem is what the hell is a prime requisite?

Nope. Lord Raptor is a modified (picture only) elf Fighter/Mage/Thief levels in the 20s with each class

So what I read on race level limits was bollocks then? Or are your prime requisites (still not sure what these are) so large that you can get into the 20's?

The cap for everyone, human or humanoid, warior or wizard, is 161k I think.

.
Lord Raptor is a BG2 character, though
.
And, because I intend to put Lord Raptor through ToB (which will raise your XP limit), I raised the XP Cap to that level (otherwise soloing the game would be impossible)
