I am trying to get to Cloakwood #1 to get someone...but it doesn't show up on my map. Usually an area will appear if I approach it from the adjacent area, but not this one! What gives? I want Coran!

Are you on Chapter 4 ?? You cant get to cloakwood if you arent in chapter 4

Chapter 3! How do I start Chapter 4...? See this is what I mean...there is a pathway, but no direction...and yet a walkthrough seems like a spoiler. There must be some quest that I haven't fullfilled...please tell me what that might be. Imoen is rapidly approaching level 6 thief and I want to duel her before that...and yet I also want another thief so I thought I would pick up Coran.

- - - - - - - To finish chapter 3, you gotta visit the bandit camp, located near peldvale. to get it into your map, you should talk to tranzig (he´s in the upper floor of feldepost inn in beregost), or walk around peldvale and these forests till some bandits "recruit" you. about coran, shes in the lighthouse area, no need to be on chapter 4 for that. in cloakwood forests you can get eldoth, faldorn (or something like that), and yeslick. ------------------ "I´ve been captured... and I don´t care" -Ertai, Captive of the Blinding Angel

Well, explore the surrounding forests too, not only peldvale.
SPOILER/HINT - - - - youll have to talk and convince them, or they´ll attack you anyway, tranzigs way is easier, just go, talk with him, and once you get the map, go there and kill anything that moves  ------------------ "I´ve been captured... and I don´t care" -Ertai, Captive of the Blinding Angel

Ertai_OHF, isn't the thief near lighthouse called Safana? She isn't the one I want...but may settle for her. Coran is in Cloakwood#1 I am fairly sure from posts that I have read. I will try to follow the bandit quest a bit closer. I have already killed a bunch of bandits though and hope there may be at least one left to join or ? Anyway...thanks for help.

Yep, now that you mention it, the lighthouse is Safana, right. Sorry !!
