I was there during my first trip through the game, and for the life of me I can't remember how to get there in my third time through the game. I feel pretty dumb. Thanks for the help.

I think that for the first time you want to leave the city you must do so via the City Gates. After that you can enter the outerlying areas from anywhere.

I think you've got to go trough the city gates to be able to go outside the city walls. Leave the gate map in the northern piece of the map.

if it's not on your world map then you can't get there or you have to go to the gate and talk to the guy that askes you to help trademeet then it should be on your world map
