How can you let Jan join the party? (possible spoiler)

Hi girls/guys,

I'm a long time lurker at this forum and now I have a question for you guru's out there:

If you say that you are not interested to Jan the first time you met him, he is not interested in talking to you at a later stage. Is it possible to get him to join your party in some kind of way or is the turnip loving guy lost forever?

Thanks in advance for the answer (even if the answer is no...)

If you first meet him and he asks if he can join you, you get three responses. I don't know them litterally, but basically you can invite him into the party, you can tell him 'not now, but maybe later', or you can tell him to get lost.

If you give him that last response, he will obviously be lost forever. Give the second one, however, and he will go to his home, located in the Slums. You can go there if you want to pick him up at a later stage. I believe he will be there throughout the entire game.

If you dont took him with you in the first place, you can just go to his home in the slums to get him. He will wait for you there through the whole game, yes.
You should really get him, he is very funny, good thief, good shooter and he can cast some mage spells as the illusunist he is.

I had a pretty unlucky experiance with Jan. I found his home before i found him. Being curious i decided to have a look around his house. I found a locked chest, picked it and took the contents (with hindsight a stupid thing to do). His familly went hostile and i ran away (not wanting to slaughter innocent Gnomes). When i met Jan in the government district I attacked and killed him.

Consolation was i got about 500gp for his stuff

I think I told him that I wasn't interested at this time and he stays in front of the gov. building, he isn't going to his home or whatever...

Ah well, maybe next time I play the game....
