i seem to have a problem connectin with a friend through modem connection... always when we connect and once i load the game, he gets cut off for no good reason and vice versa... any advice? ps: yes we checked the configuration to make sure we have the same settings

LOL "-) For no good reason sounds a bit like you've answered the question already. Perhaps no apparent reason would be a better phrase. Have you tried a direct modem to modem session between yourself and your freind using other software ? Perhaps another game you both have or even "HyperTerminal that ships with all "Windows" (Merc curses and spits to his left muttering somthing about doppelgangers and mimics) operating systems. If you can establish con with other software then you can start to troubleshoot BG2. But I would check you con first.
