Actually it is very easy to steal in the game. In the Underdark I stole everything from one of the droves. Just weird. You can steal everything from a merchant and still he/she will offer you to have a look at their stuff. You can also sell - steal a lot of times and earn a lot of gold.

Indeed. Just that I didn't steal/sell and yet I have by now more money then I will possibly need. Equipment I have I have aquired from quests and loot drops, I have sold all I ever collected and I did collect at first a lot. I have now almost 300k gold and yet I don't need to buy anything at all. I have to get some items for the Cromwel to smith, so that will take some of the money away, but in the end, I will still have more cash then I need
![]() Quite the opposite to the game beginning, when I needed money badly but didn't have any heh.. Now if it would be just as easy in RL, it would be cool ![]()

I also did a lot of pick-pocketing at first [like healing and cure poison potions from the dryads in the first dungeon] but found I was only getting mundane items that weren't worth the effort so I quit trying.
In BG1 you occasionally came up with a good magical item - has anyone picked/shoplifted anything really good in BG2?

P.P Drizzt & Gang for some cool items (you must be ultra fast but the items are legally obtained.....in game terms.) I stole his swords off of him in BG1 which I think was a fair cop.

D*Ranged,
Try lifting from fat boy (Bernard?) in the Copper Coronet, even with 185% in p.p he's still difficult. |

Well I think if you kill and steal his stuff then that's possibly the case. The stuff I stole from him and gang in BG2 (not his weapons which I don't think you can obtain in BG2 without killing him) I kept the whole game through. The swords I stole in BG1 I used until I sold them somewhere around Chap' 5 with no problems. I do believe if you import his stolen stuff from BG1 to BG2 then that is retrieved by his pals (I think.)
