Perhaps your computer can't handle all the ambient sounds, character sounds, music and the other countless amounts of sound that this game produces? What kind of computer do you have?

With that kind of computer you shouldn't be having sound problems. Get more RAM or shut down all those extra good for nothing applications running in windows (ctrl-alt-del to see 'em all).

things like virus protection and anti freeze programs take up a lot of resources. try disabling these. also shut down all useless windows programs as DemonX suggested. maybe if you defragment your hard drive it could help. couldnt hurt anyway. if all else fails shut off some of the ambient sounds and see if that helps.
