Crimson chain has 0 AC. Best sword except for non paladins would be soul reaver, if not that is a item not available to good characters. Then I'd say the Vorpal sword OR the warblade, they are on par methinks.

Lilacor is the best Two-handed sword that you can get early in the game. You definitely want to get your hands on it if you haven't already. Plus, it has some great dialog. By the time you can assemble the vorpal sword you really don't need it anymore.

If you're interested, there is a site called Arundor's Abode with an excellent choice of weapons compatible with BGII - including a 2-hand sword that is even better than the Vorpal Blade (in my opinion).

You can check these items out for yourself at:

Shadow Dragon scale is plenty good for a barb...Lilarcor is a good way to go for the early-to-mid game...before that, the Sword of Chaos +2

I ended up giving Minsc Lilacor. It just seemed right. But it annoyed me so much I had to sell it... Unsolicited comments and all that. Quite irritating.

I like the sword of the north in Bohdis guantlet, sort of like a mini cromfyr. 10% mr +2 or 3(not sure).
The mindflayer behind the painting wall has it.
P.S: its only usable by good peeps

Illumina- I would have to agree that Lilacor can get annoying after awhile. ("C'mon, can we kill something now???? Yeah!!") Pretty bloodthirsty sword. Still, to be able to find a +3 two-handed sword shortly after escaping the dungeon is worth the annoyance. Maybe they should have given Lilacor a small chance of taking over the user and randomly killing something. Especially since the quest makes it sound as though some entity was imprisoned in the sword to begin with?

That and it's ridiculously easy to find! I mean, come on! If it was any easier to procure an Amnish soldier would *hand* it to you the minute you left the dungeon.
I guess there is balance in that after all. And besides, you can always just turn the volume down... or, my tactic, have the character wielding Lilacor click on a different weapon when not in combat.
Sweet silence...

HEY! I just thought of the most sadistic way to kill a party member. Ever. Hands-down. Equip them with Lilacor and then cast Imprisonment. They'll be stuck listening to him. Forever and ever and EVER.
