Plain and simple, this has got to be one the best RPG's I have ever played. The story, combat and dialogue were all top notch. Then Deathstalker released his mod and this game just became gravy. This post is for anyone considering buying this game. Don't even think about it, go get it now.

I pretty much agree with you.
One of the best at least. |

It's one of the best, certainly. I still think Wizardry 7 was better. Better story, more fleshed out with interesting side-plots and longer.
Of course Wiz8 would have been a lot longer and had a more involved story but the developers ran out of money. It's a pity because the bits of the game that are there are brilliant. One of the good things about the shorter length of Wiz8 is that you can come back and replay it over and over. I've taken at least a dozen parties to the end of the game using all the professions and races along the way in various different combinations. xfactor |

Wiz 7 was more fleshed out? How so?
I liked the story of 8 a bit better, they bring back VI and the DS! I thought that was really cool. Also combat seems more balanced, no more nuke parties!

I just felt that the Wiz7 game world was more complete - it felt more real than the Wiz8 world. The story develops in a more natural way, I feel.
I agree that at some points Wiz7 combat is a bit easier than in 8 but those instances are rare. In fact, even once the Armegazers and uber-Djinn start appearing in Wiz8 it's not even close to the endgame challenge in Wiz7. Plus, at least the Savant was actually hard in Wiz7! Don't get me wrong, I love Wiz8. I just feel Wiz7 has that little bit more epic scope which I prefer. xfactor |
