Hi,

I'd never thought, that there would be a reason to post in this W8-Forum again after I put Wizardry to rest last year. But I started a new game two weeks ago and after more than 2 years and dozends of games, guess what I found yesterday evening :

A lightsword !!!!

I still can't believe it .

Greetings

Yes, I've been playing wiz8 since it went on sale in the UK (2002?) and have never had a light sword. Mind you I haven't had the patience to keep reloading for one.

However, tried one of Flame's savegames which is in the Northern Wilderness retro dungeon and there are two Hoarder Slimes in there who both dropped a cool mace and one also dropped a Light Sword. Note that this was with Flame's latest mod installed.

I don't count this as receiving a Light Sword by the way, as it isn't in one of my own games.

Oh, the mace is called Mjolnir, anybody recognise the name?

As I recall, that's the name of Thor's hammer.

Only found a lightsword once in many games myself, and that was plain luck, as I didn't try any reloading tricks. If I remember rightly, think it came in the Bayjin hut chest. Nice weapon to have, when you have it

P.S. Congrats, Loudhy. Shows you why you have to keep playing!

Correct! In the legend it was also a throwing hammer, but not in the mod though.

Yes, I've heard it's easier to get from the Bayjin chest as you can save before entering Bayjin, run to the chest and reload if you don't get a Light Sword.

Congrats Loudhy! I never got a light sword. I might dig out my copy of Wiz8 just for the fun of it sometime soon though.

I was lucky enough 2 get a total of 2 light swords in mucho games, but never when I tried real hard! Congrats. I'll take one over an Excal anytime. (My last party of 4 got one, I should go finish that game...was getting too easy.)

Loudhy, all you need now is the *Light* *Shield* to complete your "outfit".

Hi Wolfie.

I don't think that I have so much luck. I also never found Excaliber. The chance to build a snowman in a desert is greater than finding all 3 items in a single W8 game .

Greetings

BTW - You can get a *light shield* any game at Helazoid drop in Bayjin shack. Save after opening her door. Talk to her, check dropped bag after dialog (I click on dialog box to speed up her demise). If no shield, reload. Usually takes me about 5 minutes or about 10 tries (can be longer or shorter since it is random).
