Well dplax, old buddy. Let me tell ya'. I even went as far as to call the RCMP that's Royal Canadian Mounted Police and asked them about this "illegal" downloading of movies etc. and they told me that they wouldn't even bother doing anything about it! So here's a guy who publicly advertizes the fact that he does his and that's ok!?
I don't even borrow rental movies!

Duh, didn't notice he already tried fixing the cd.

Donno about the legion symbol. Ziroc must have taken it from somewhere.

I wasn't advocating piracy, and because the game won't be useful by itself with only one disc, I hardly see how that would be considered piracy.

Actually, I didn't notice either. I was being serious not sarcastic.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess I'll just buy it again on Amazon. Serves me right. My daughter has autism and motor problems and loves to be helpful. That's how it got scratched. I should have just made a back-up immediately. (I've been told it's legal to do this or I wouldn't mention it.) So, my laziness will cost another $20. Could be worse. At least it is still for sale. And my birthday is in a few weeks.

OK - try this (I assume that you can see the scratch)...

Megluar Car Wax (in the tin is better than liquid, although liquid may work) has the highest 'wax build-up' of any car wax I know of...

Using a cotton cloth (diaper is best), apply and buff wax onto the scratch repeatedly till it appears smooth, then try to install it again.
Once it works, copy the affected files for backup.

Some "Used CD" stores have a 'polisher' that can do this for a fee (may be cheaper to just find a copy and buy it...)

Worth a try !!

Didn't know it was possible to back up the play disk.

How is this done? It wouldn't be possible for me to get a replacement if anything happened to mine and that, to put it mildly, is worrisome. Since the game is off the market and will be even harder to replace in the future, I doubt that I am the only one who feels like this.

You can't back it up 'cos that's like copying and you can't do that; legally that is.
