I don't think it's specified anywhere in the game. By the looks of it, some ancient king from Higardi history.

Hmm, I haven't played any of the previous Wizardry titles, but they don't take place on Dominus, do they? So that doesn't sound logical to me.

Could be the grave of Scythe though, the mummy in the coffin chamber.

No one from previous wizardry games. Probably just some unknown person, like other tombs. The only real person mentioned who was buried was Cierdan the smith, and that is it.

In the _History of Dominus_, it says the Sorceror King is buried there, murdered by the Sorceror Queen in a jealous rage after he had an affair with Nebdar. Supposedly she still loves him, but keeps the Scythe around to make sure he doesn't get resurrected. Nebdar meanwhile is hiding out in an unknown location (well most of you know where) while the Queen is shacking up with 2 Death Lords, the hussy.

Don't you guys bother reading the books in the monastery?

I was aware that you could click on the bookshelves and get small tidbits of info, but where the hell could you actually get a book and read this? I'd like to know.
