Diamond is slightly better than Mauler, IIRC. May switch to DE with shield and drop the SoD for bishop. Need to get a shield for her. I do like leaving rogue as ultimate weapon so he keeps *light shield*. He also has the Helm of Serenity so when 2 ensnaring spiders attaked, he was the only one immune to paralysis.
One prob is the bishop, formerly a mage, has zero in mace and flail and zero in shield skill. Vampire chain will be the goal, the restriction being you can use these extended flails with a shield but not with a secondary weapon. Someone thought this up in DnD? And they don't do double damage to incapacitated foes or get the same strength 2x bonus above 50 to damage but that is minor. Wereboar is right about magic, just picked up nuclear blast. Magic levels are cumulative within a school (such as mage) even when switching magic cast roles. Thanks for the comments so far. Gave me ideas. ![]() Edit: typo mainly [ 08-23-2004, 03:14 PM: Message edited by: Ziggurat ]

I much prefer dual wielding Mauler + DE; Mauler's Mace bonus starts overcoming the Dual malus once your total is over 100. This combined with Fighter's Close bonus or Lord's Dual bonus makes both weapons much stronger in spite of Mauler's being slower. And you get KO to expand your repertoir--important because many mobs can resist only one of the two conditions.

@Krull: Another vote for Mauler. The bonus mace&flail skill often gives an extra swing with DE.
@Ziggurat: I don't think the helm of Serenity helps against being webbed; its not a mental condition. In my experience, elemental shield helps a lot. Maybe it was mainly the high AC due to the light shield that the rogue didn't get hit. Or just luck. With my current party (fighter, rogue, monk, bishop), i just did the Mt.Gigas caves. After the first encounter, i didn't bother with elemental shield, or ball spells. Usually only one of the three tanks and the bishop were webbed (and broke free in no time). I think its their excellent AC. |

Well there's why he resists web spells. Hobbits have that nice bonus to earth resistence due to vitality.
My solo Rogue was a female Hobbit equipped with an Amulet Pro Magic (used it often but never left it equipped after use) and the Ring Pro Frost to give her the best chance of avoiding all paralyzing spells from water and earth realms. [ 08-24-2004, 11:32 AM: Message edited by: Flamestryke ]

Thanks Wereboar, didn't have time to use Element so must be AC. Party is:
Dracon rogue (lev 21 now) Rawulf priest-lord (13-6) Faerie alchemist-ninja (3-16) Human mage-bishop (13-6) "Dyslex" the rogue was equiped with flak jacket, studded pants, leather boots, HoS, cuir gauntlets (I think), *light sword*, *light shield*, Cierdans bow, and viper arrows. Not high enough skill for strong bow. Edit: also rainbow cloak, ankh of dexterity and healing amulet. [ 08-24-2004, 01:51 PM: Message edited by: Ziggurat ]
