Finally, its here. It was a hard choice between Zaxmar and Caius, but Zaxmar won in the end. Now then, you wait no longer, the story. When commenting plz disable sigs!!!!!!!!!! Or I WILL hunt you down.

Author's Notice
Please note that the beginning chapters take place on Guardia, and what happens at the end. Guardia is the planet you are on in Crusaders of the Dark Savant, or known as Wizardry7. If you are confused in anyway, please PM me and I'll explain it to you better. Now then, the story.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Path to the Cosmic Circle

Prologue:

I am the Cosmic Lord Zaxmar. I have given the people of Dominus this holy work, so that they may learn the path of the holy. This is a story of how any person with a certain goal can achieve beyond their goal, and aspire to great things. I learned much about how to make the world a better place. I have spent countless hours in the empty void of space. I have seen comrades take on ferocious beasts while his friends were in grave peril.
But it is not just a story about fame, fortune and glory. It’s not about warriors and wizards honing their skills to the best. It is also about a dark herald, the dreaded Dark Savant who would bring all worlds to chaos. It is he who challenged the first Cosmic Lords, he whose name would follow a shudder. The Dark Savant was ruthless in his goal to rule the worlds in Chaos. There were others who would fight against, very few, but with their aid they changed history forever.
These others were me and my fellow companions, lone wanderers striving to make a difference, and most notable, two great factions of extreme power; the militant Umpani, and the cunning T’rang. Both despised each other, and had it not been up to two people, the war between both of them would have never ceased. There were also the highly intelligent Mook, whose knowledge would aid in saving the universe. Other races played a significant role in the end, such as the highly devout and technological Higardi, cousins of the mysterious Helazoid. The tough, mean, and deadly Rapax, who would never stop to conquer the planet Dominus and who hated the Trynnie, small furry creatures that lived in giant tree city called Trynton. They were also known to steal anything that appealed to their liking, but they were extremely skilled in the arts of magic, specifically Alchemy.
There were others who helped, but they helped on planet Guardia, which is another story for another time. But Guardia had a big role for me and my comrades, it is where our journey began; the hunt for the Astral Dominae. Such people of importance were King Ulgar of the Gorn, Don Barlone who was a Rattkin and head of the Razuka (an organized crime syndicate), Xen Xheng of the Munk, the mystical Dane, and so on. It was on Guardia, where I first met the adventurous girl Vitalia (Vi for short) Domina, and the Dark Savant.
Guardia was nothing more than a long race to find the Astral Dominae. And our party did find it. But when we found the globe that contains the power of life and a map to a star system, we also met the Dark Savant. In a bloody and epic battle, we defeated him, or so we thought. Before we could runaway with the Dominae and Vi, the Dark Savant grabbed Vi, and made an offer. “THIS FRAIL GIRL NEED NOT DIE... HER WOUNDS WILL HEAL AND YOU MAY DEPART... BUT I SHALL HAVE THE ASTRAL DOMINAE ONE WAY OR ANOTHER! THE GLOBE FOR THE GIRL!” he said. To go so far and lose the globe was not an option, but to lose Vi was also not an option. So we made the trade, and realized that a day of reckoning will come.
We brought Vi out of the tomb of the Astral Dominae, brought her to New City, and healed her up and left her in a room in the local Inn run by a Munk ( I have long forgotten the name). When we had prepared to leave Guardia, we had gotten word that the T’rang and the Umpani had a big showdown at the tomb, with some survivors on each side. We had missed both factions by about five minutes. And so we were prepared to leave Guardia and head to the star system that the Astral Dominae showed. But before we could leave, we met a wandering Umpani named Roderick, and we eagerly joined him. He said he was heading to Upkyr, the base of the Umpani that had been destroyed, because a Mook was hiring people for protection. That man was Grimpak, and this is where the story begins.

Thanx Rezdude, will register. Now, I'll deliver the second part of chapter one ASAP. Its too big, and I need to make some edits and finish it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter I: Mercenaries for Hire?

I looked at the 5’8 plated man in front of me. In his arms was a fairly young looking lady and her beautiful body was bruised, cut, and blood trickling down her right cheek, and I along with everyone else, was still shaking a bit. The man was starting to breathe heavily, and I could understand why as I looked up at the scorching sun above my head.
“I-I can’t take this anymore. Somebody take off this blasted helmet. SareClaw, since you can’t possibly be stealing right now take this thing off.” He was now panting and starting to slow his pace.
A rather slim but tall catlike person responded. “Ah sure, always gotta pick me. If you can’t see me you always suspect I’m rifling through some pockets. Besides, I told you to keep the helmet off.”
“Well it was safe to keep it on just incase some Rattkin decide that we are their next target. But now that we are in New City, we couldn’t possibly be attacked.”
“And just why is that Mr. Goody-goody?” SareClaw responded coolly. I must admit, he never seemed to get angry; he was slick and always knew what to say.
“Because I thought you were the *king*, remember. If I do recall correctly, it was you who said you had everyone in this city wrapped around your one of your paws, and the other one was backup.” Jorlon was also good. He was very different for a paladin.
“Well I-I-I… Oh forget about it. You win.” I watched SareClaw walk in front of me, and from what I could see, he was trying to take off the helmet. “Why won’t this damn thing come off!? Oh I see, these little metal things are strapped to your platemail.”
“Very good SareClaw, now if you would be willing to un-strap those things off, I could have my helmet off. Be careful too, those straps can break easily and you have to slide them off of the things they are attached to and then unclip it.”
SareClaw seemed to be having trouble even after what Jorlon said. I chuckled, “Man, this part will be great for my book.”
“You still got that book idea going Zaxmar? When I find out where you keep it, I’m gonna publish it and sell it to everyone so I get the profits. Now Jorlon, hold still I think I’ve got this thing-” SNAP.
Jorlon froze it his tracks, along with everyone else. “Did you, did you just snap one of those buckles?” Jorlon said. His voice was calm, but everyone could sense the anger in his voice.
“No no Jorlon. Ya got it all wrong, that was my nail, um yeah my nail scrapping that buckle. I’ll just finish the rest of the back ones real quick. Hold on uh here we go. See, piece of ca-” SNAP, SNAP, SNAP! SareClaw with his hands shaking had obviously forgotten about the front buckles, as he hastily lifted the helm off. Everyone else (including me were cracking up inside). CZZZZ!
Jorlon’s helm flew off and above his head was SareClaw’s hands, holding the helmet. Jorlon whirled around, the girl’s feet smacking the Felpurr’s frail chest. “Three, two, one…” I counted.
“YOU BLUNDERING IMBECILE. HONESTLY, IS IT THAT HARD TO TAKE OFF THIS HELM WITHOUT BREAKING IT? IT’S BAD ENOUGH YOU STILL FROM EVERY PERSON YOU SEE IN SIGHT INCLUDING ME BUT THEN YOU BREAK THE MOST EXPENSIVE STUFF! I OUGHTA SEND YOU STRAIGHT THROUGH THE UMPANI LAW SYSTEM!” Jorlon’s voice ringed through the empty streets, and it lasted for at least thirty seconds. No doubt the storekeepers could here…
SareClaw, looking dumbfounded, slowly backed away from Jorlon, and ran around the corner yelling, “I’ll be at Rossarian’s!”
Felpurrs really are quick and silent, I could barely hear SareClaw running. When you think about it, it is remarkable.
Jorlon’s eyes widened. “Hey, he took my helm!” One thing about Jorlon is that he always notices something after the person disappears. And all of us could have sworn we heard a distinct voice go “sucker”.
I walked passed Jorlon and put my hand on his shoulder. “Sigh, c’mon, we gotta get Vi to the Inn. Then we gotta go to Paluke, he has to fix the string on my bow.”
“I guess your right. But before that we’ll get SareClaw so I can fix my helm; that is if he hasn’t sold it for some useless junk. Thieves.” Jorlon muttered.
So the rest of us continued along, Lorka the Mook Bishop, Arxite the human ninja. For a ninja he was quite odd. He had so many theories, and his mood changed. Sometimes he would want praise or be happy when he happened to kill a monster with one blow; other times when we did applaud him he’d scowl or give us a deadly glare. Then there was Kaldrea, our female bard. She was quite something, and when Jorlon couldn’t negotiate, she would go, and personally, she was a better talker than Jorlon was. Then there is me, I’m a ranger with deadly aim not to boast. We made quite a team.
We had arrived at the inn, and entered hastily for we spotted some troopers, they actually were Kui’sa-ka, really powerful minions of the Dark Savant. First, we purchased a room and put Vi on the bed. Then after a long and tiring day, we all sat down to some drinks and meat. When all was said and done, we headed out.
“Alright, so where to now? I think we should go find SareClaw, plus I need to talk to Rossarian about my money theory.” Arxite waited eagerly for a reply, while the rest of us rolled our eyes about his theories.
Jorlon cleared his throat and spoke, “Arxite is right, it is imperative that we find SareClaw, finish what we need to do in New City, and find a way off this planet. Even as we speak the Dark Savant is becoming close to achieving his goal.”
Everyone looked around and checked that they had everything. Jorlon had spoken in such a manner that everyone knew he was serious, and that was the path we would be taking. So we carefully made our way to Rossarian’s Shop, dodging some Umpani Renegades, demented Munks, and the occasional band of sinister looking Gorn. As we approached the door, we could here SareClaw talking, and the way he was talking meant trouble.
“Listen Rossarian, this helmet is at least worth 15000, you know that. And you could sell this thing for more. You know it’s a good deal.”
We heard a loud bang from a table. “Listen, I’ll give you 9000, that’s my final offer. Take it, or get out of my shop before you have a bullet through your head. Besides, you’ll probably steal it from me once you get the chance.”
Deciding that this was probably a good time to enter the shop, Jorlon hastily turned the knob and opened the door. We saw Jorlon’s helm on a counter, a burly Umpani behind the counter, and SareClaw pacing back and forth.
“Hello Rossarian, what is new today?” Jorlon was speaking in a calm voice.
“Nothing much, oh but I did fix your Blunderbuss, perfectly fine now. It’s all loaded and ready for you. And I got the order of powder&shot for you, enough to last about 120 shots.” Rossarian pulled something from one of the counter cabinets. He placed a large box on the counter, along with a nicely finished and polished Blunderbuss.
“Thanks Rossarian, it needed repair badly. Now then, I’m assuming this won’t come cheap.”
“9,758. You were right, it was in terrible condition and I have no clue how you managed to use it when it was that bad.”
Jorlon pulled something out from his pack. It was a tiny rectangular hinged box, about 6 inches wide, 8 inches long, and its height was about 2 inches. Jorlon opened it, revealing many pieces of fine paper. He took one out and handed it to Rossarian.
“Mighty me, since when did you start paying in credit?” Rossarian was surprised, he usually expected gold, and usually took only gold.
“Well, gold has been bogging us down, so we traded gold for credit in the bank.”
“The bank!? That has been closed for *holidays* for ages. How did you get it to open? I mean seriously, this is incredible!”
“Well, we convinced some Gorn to run the bank. I mean, I know they are warriors but these Gorn knew money. So they fixed the bank up, and now it’s running fine. Of course not too many people are going there. But I can assure you that this credit is backed up, it’s not fake or forged or whatever.”
This is where we’d need a vote to see who is a better diplomat, Kaldrea or Jorlon, because both could really convince people.
“Fine then and I trust you Jorlon. However, if it was this thief over here, I wouldn’t be so sure…”
“Same here Rossarian. Say, can I have my helm back. This idiot broke the straps, and now Paluke will have to fix it.” Jorlon glared at SareClaw, and SareClaw walked back slowly. Fortunately, Arxite prevented him from leaving by blocking the doorway.
“You mean you tried to sell me a broken helm! Why I oughta beat you to a pulp! You should be lucky that your companions are here!”
SareClaw laughed, “Heh, you’re the one who is supposed to be the merchant, if you can’t tell if it’s broken, why we are buying from you makes no sense to me.”
I elbowed SareClaw hard in the chest, extremely hard. Then I signaled Jorlon that it was time for us to leave. “Sorry about him Rossarian, he just can’t keep his mouth shut sometimes.”
Rossarian grunted and by now he was furious. It was so funny watching Rossarian straining to keep a normal face. “Its- it’s okay. Come back if you need anything.”

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the first few chapters are how they arrive on dominus, and some background info, this all takes place on Guardia right now.

Heh, how long has it been since I last updated this. Anyways, here is what I've worked on. Rezdude, thx for getting me back into this.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We all departed from the building hastily, and looked around in case anything was near. Next, we ran to the courtyard, which was west of Rossarian’s, like 10 feet. We then took the western exit, headed northwards, and arrived at Paluke’s Door. I looked at the sign engraved on the wall above Paluke’s door. *Paluke’s Armory. Mail & Fine Leathers*. Jorlon opened the door quickly, as we spotted more Kui’sa-ka patrolling nearby, thankfully they hadn’t seen us. We all looked around; Paluke really meant it when he said he’d do some cleaning. Before, this place had knocked down chairs, the floor wasn’t swept for ages, dummies were bare, and there was rotting leather and tarnished mail all over the place.
Now Paluke’s Armory, Mail & Fine Leathers is a suitable name for this place; this is how an armory should be. Paluke obviously bought new Dummies, polished the wood up and put an assortment of mails, weapons, and plate. The floor was swept, and polished. He obviously bought new tables, everything looked new.
Paluke came out from the back, obviously hearing us come in. “Ort! I wondered when I’d see you guys again. I’ve totally remodeled, cost me a fortune though. Like what I did with the place?”
Jorlon and Lorka were in awe. Arxite, well who could tell with that mask on his face, and SareClaw, he was looking around, trying to swipe anything. Kaldrea was also astonished.
Jorlon cleared his throat up quickly. “Wow Paluke, this is impressive. How did you ever have the money and time to do this?”
“*Snortle* I’m glad you asked. It was mainly thanks to you guys. You were always selling me some really good stuff, and not so good stuff. You bought a lot from me, and you always came to me for repairs. Well, I had a big *snort* sellout about three weeks ago. Remember, I haven’t seen you in ages, I think a month and a half *snort*. From the money I made, I decided it was time to spruce up this place. Everything is new, and I order a bunch of ore from the Gorn Castle. Then I went through the tarnished and rotted leather, and decided what parts could be salvageable, and I used them. I was also able to repair 4 suits of mail that were badly tarnished. So everything is good now. And I know you came here for a reason, and let me guess, helmet problems Jorlon?”
“Yeah, buckles broke.” Jorlon glared at SareClaw as he said that. “And Zaxmar needs his bow string fixed, it’s been very loose.”
“Again with the bow Zaxmar *snort*! How far do you pull that thing back? Well, give them both to me, I’ll fix them up.” Paluke snatched the two items from Jorlon’s hands. All Gorn seemed to have that problem of snatching.
Jorlon cleared his throat once again. “Uh Paluke, how much are we talking here? And, we are also on a time budgeting crisis right now, when should we come back?”
Paluke scratched his bald and warty head. “This isn’t so bad, I can give a decent price of 600 for the straps, and 50 for the string *ort*. So 650 *Ort* and there is no need for you to leave. I’ll fix these things right now, you can watch. It’ll only be 20 minutes, 25 tops.”
Jorlon thought for a moment, and then spoke. “That sounds-”
“Perfect! That’s just the amount of time we can afford.” SareClaw interjected. “Eh, you wouldn’t have the tools to fix these things in the backrooms by any chance?”
“Well actually, I fix everything back there. But I will need your help, I’ll need you to hold the bow tight and get the straps through.” Paluke grinned evilly, revealing some missing teeth.
“Crap. Just when I thought I got a chance.” SareClaw sighed. I think he was beginning to realize that he wasn’t such a good thief, now that everyone knew who he was and what he did.
Paluke started heading towards the back. “C’mon *ort*. Watch how a professional does it.”
Everyone immediately followed, and entered a small but cozy room. There were cabinets on the walls, and at the end of the room was a workbench, and a huge one, complete with vices and anvils, a blacksmiths paradise. Paluke walked up to a table in the middle of the room, and pulled a chain hanging from the ceiling. Immediately, a large piece of wood from the ceiling started to slide into the rest of the ceiling, revealing the sky above, with the sunlight entering the room, removing the use for torches. Paluke then proceeded to place the helmet upside down on the table, and placed the bow on a separate table.
“*Snortle*, I need some metal pieces, 1 inch length, about half an inch width and Oh my Lord what in the name of Ulgar did you do to this helm?! This is worse than I thought, not only did you get the straps broken *ort*, but the rimming that also helps keep this thing on is totally bent *Snortle*. I wonder about you sometimes. Now SareClaw, my vices aren’t big enough, so I need you to hold this thing and prevent it from moving. It’s surgery time *ort*.”
SareClaw followed Paluke’s instructions, and Paluke left the room for a minute, and reappeared with a weird blade that also looked like a pair of giant tweezers. Next thing we knew, Paluke shoved the blade through a side of the helm, and used the other blade that wasn’t through the helm to press down on the rim. Then, Paluke lifted up, and a thin metal rim flew off. Paluke threw the rim on the ground, and pulled another rim from a draw, and placed it on the helm. He then fastened the rim on with some screws, and added four little odd buckle looking things.
“*ort* SareClaw, I need you to put this four metal strips through those one of those buckles. And be gentle, you might accidentally snap the buckles *ort*”.
SareClaw, with amazing precision, was able to get every single metal strip through with no problem. Paluke then bended the strips upwards, and then twisted them. Then he put the helmet on a separate table, and grabbed my bow. He took the string off of my bow, and pulled out another from yet another draw. He strung the bow, tightened it, and clipped the excess string.
“All done, and Zaxmar, don’t pull too hard on that string.” Paluke grinned, showing those hideous teeth yet again.
“Don’t worry Paluke, I won’t. Here is the payment,” and I handed Paluke a two Credit slips, one for 500 gp, and another for 250 gp. Like Rossarian, Paluke was astounded.
“Wh-wh-where did you get credit? You’ve been hanging around the Helazoids haven’t you?”
“Nope, the bank has opened up, don’t bother asking questions. Very few people are aware of it. Well, I’d love to stay, but we really have to go. We all must bid you a farewell Paluke; chances are you might never see or hear about us again.” I had said dismally.
“*ort* and just why is that my good friends?” Inquired Paluke?
“Because, we’re after him, the Dark Savant, the chase continues and chances are he is up to no good with that Astral Dominae.” Jorlon interjected, and motioned to the door.
“So that means he has it, he has the Dominae. The most sacred artifact of all time, stolen from our planet. I do not understand, it… it was well hidden, none of us knew where it was.” Paluke said sorrowfully. A hint of fear was ringing in Paluke’s voice.
“Well, he won’t have it for long. We are going on a hunt, who knows how long it’ll be before it ends, but we will follow him to the far ends of the earth. Now then, we are off to find a ship.” I said with a voice that could easily be identified as a voice that meant it was time to leave and the conversation ended.
