I'm almost at the mines, and understand there's a character there I can recruit - RFS-81. My question is, if I've already recruited Mylos and Vi, who should I "let go" for him? Or should I get him at all?
I'm playing with 2 fighters, a rogue (besides Myles), a priest and a sorcerer. Any assistance is appreciated. Regards, Michael |

you already got a rogue? then get rid of myles. RFS is worth it. he is the best RPC.

I would second the above oppinion. IF you already have a Rogue, then Myles is redundant (and Annoying). RFS is a much better fighter than Myles, as well, and has access to some information you won't get from Myles of Vi. Of course, you could choose to play with fewer than 8 characters, as well, which would mean your existing party will get more experience.

It's a perfect time to dump Miles, he won't (willingly anyways) go to the mines with you IIRC. He's pretty limited in terms of where he will and won't go. RFS is great in that he'll follow you just about anywhere.

Miles will not go into the mines anyway.
I would dump both Vi and Miles for RFS81. He is completely loyal, and the best fighter in the game. Equiped with the Zaitochi bo, he can do 60-100 damage per hit with 4 or more hits per round, usually knocking out the enemey. He is also highly resistant to mental attacks, and will very rarely become insane or turncoat. His only disadvantage is that he cannot use spells. He can, instead, use potions, scrolls and bombs. Miles is also a good fighter early on. No match for RFS, but still a good one. He and Bloodlust are a good match. But he won't go into either T'rang or Umpani territories. I never found Vi to be very useful. She is a weak fighter and a weak spell caster. So she was more an XP hog than a good addition. The other useful NPC is the Umpani Bard. He owns the soulfull sax, which is great with the equines in the swamp and AP. However, he would not go into Bayjin, where his skills would be more appreciated. He is also uncomfortable in Rapax castle, and Marten's bluff. I trained him well until we got to Bayjin, and then re-recruited him prior to going to AP. He and RFS accompanied my solo bishop / faerie ninja all the rest of the way (at which time Bish was level 32, and the NPC level 29 each. Bard held bloodlust, and Bish the CofC and rod of sprites. This team got the DS in two rounds. Knocked out by RFS on the first blow. Avi |
