Subject says it all. I'm wondering wether to spend sp/money on this one. Until now I haven't had severe problems with cloud spells, nothing that the occasional heal all cannot handle.

It's good to have. If you backfire with your death cloud spell, you want to immediately get rid of the cloud. Also, you will face Djinni of the cloud and other such monsters with cloud spell, so it's nice to have. Otherwise, you can stick with heal all, resurrection. You will not resist spells that higher level monsters cast though.

It's a must-have IMHO, cloud spells are nasty and it's worth its weight in gold to get them off of your party.

Wait until you run into enemies that throw toxic clouds or death clouds on you.
After the temple fight in SE wilderness, you'll know that you need it. With my second-last party, i got quite unlucky with my savings against toxic and death cloud. At least the minor enemies (and their called elementals) got killed by enemy death wishes, thanks to eye for an eye. After some rounds in the clouds, only the priest was alive, and he was knocked out. About 6 rounds later, he awoke and started to bring my party back to life. I used up 13 resurrection powders in that fight! |

You might consider buying a ring of breezes if you don't want to spend a spell pick. I personally don't use the spell much, electing to face the brunt of cloud spells while i dish out damage in return. Personal preference I guess.
