^^^ I've run into that a few times as well, it sucks. One thing I finally resorted to was using a LOT of flash powder and terror spells. While it doesn't eliminate the enemy, it certainly buys you time to handle the enemy in waves. Make sure you find some terrain to limit how many enemies can attack you at one time (this also improves any cone spells).

Good luck

I don't have problems killing modais either, but they are incredibly slow to kill, especially for a low-level party like mine. BTW, does it affect your game in negative if you rest very often?

That is the only reason I keep those dusts... to throw them in big mobs like this.

Resting does not matter. It's not time based.

Great. But it's less fun if you know that you can rest and get full health and magic after each battle. Baldur's gate handles this problem much better.

LOL! Who says you get to fully rest?

The only way to ensure full rest I have found, is by going into someone's room (like Crock) - but try resting in the swamp, arnika road, the se wilderness... chances are you're going to find your precious rest interrupted, and if you're not careful, half of your party will remain asleep.

Shadow Hound. Actually, if you camp, mobs respawn, so if you've levelled up, they will, too. I went from frogs to Emerald Slimes overnight when i was experimenting with the mob/party level thing in the Swamp. (saved up points and went from 7 to 10)

One little trick is to rest at a place where you can only face one monster at a time. They will never surprise attack you then, but wait from a little distance for you to come out. This is especially useful in the beginning on the road.

My party is about Level 9, and it seems that two Cultists, some Brigand, and sometimes some ants, have taken up residency in the Arnika Road! The Cultists wipe me out almost immediately with their Fireball spells, and if I'm not completely dead by that time, the Elementals take care of me

No matter how often I leave the Arnika Road and come back, they are ALWAYS there! There is no way I can get back to the Monastery to get the Demonsting things!
