Hi guys, new member here, long-time Wizardry player. I'm one of those few players who still has their Wiz7 savegames to import into Wiz8, in fact.

I've beaten Wiz8 twice now, and know pretty much everything about it, but I have a few odd questions I'm still looking to get answered about it. Any help or even guesses on these are appreciated!

1. Is it possible to aquire the Maened's Lance in Wiz8 with a non-imported party?

2. I've seen something listed in weapon lists as an "Instakiller". Where is this is the game? I know that unlike Maened's Lance, this item is NOT in Wiz7, so I assume you should be able to find it within Wiz8 somewhere. I just don't know where...

3. There's stuff in the T'Rang area that I'm still not sure what the purpose of it is. There's one box on a wall that has a sign that says "fix me", I think. I remember it's over in the area by the Overmind somewhere. You can do stuff with it, like turn it on or off, but I don't know what it is, what it's supposed to do, or how to "fix it".

4. Speaking of the T'Rang Overmind, what's the point of it? I know there's no Umpani mission that involves killing it, is there? So what's it even there for?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out with any of these!

1. i don't think so.
2. i think that's the Vapo-Rizer, they occur in the same places as Light Sword.
3. that affects the trap on the combination lock.
4. those things are fun to kill.

3. If you want to complete the umpani mission to destroy the t'rang transporter, you have to press that button near the overmind and then turn the respawning rate at the computer near Z'ant to maximum..

I'm pretty sure that the Maened's Lance doesn't spawn in wiz 8. Go to www.mindflay.com and get the info on spawnable items in wiz 8.

Hey, thanks for the responses so far!

To otter: No, there's actually supposedly a weapon (not a gadget) called the "Instakiller". According to weapon lists I've seen posted, it's a Faerie-only weapon. I've seen it appear on more than one online list too, so I'm assuming it's actually a real weapon (though I suppose they all could've copied the same wrong info about it)...

To the_young_one: Actually, that's not the box I'm talking about. That one's right by Z'Ant. I'm talking about the box over nearby the T'Rang Overmind (who is not Z'Ant). It's just a small sort of control panel on a wall, it's not a whole computer console like that ship control station is.

The one by the overmind is just a switch that you have to hit over to the red so that you can do what needs done over by Z'ant.

The switch with the sign that reads, "Gas Trap Sign: Please Fix Me"
controls the trap on the combination lock that KO's you if you dial wrong. (the door to the room with the Mindblast Rod)

I think that's a developer's note that didn't get fixed. The thing does stop the trap, which was important to me in my 1st game, where i actually ran through one change at a time until i got it open.
